will maybe have to sort it out before 2026 is over at 40 im getting to do things i never got to do when i was younger i had to grow up pretty fast with family being unwell. maybe give it a blast on my birthday week 41 is a good time to catch up.

I wish they had kept the movie as intended, but it's probably going to still be worth your while regardless.

And now I wanna re-watch it myself (that and that The Wizard fiasco).

I did, and it was ok at best. Satiated the interest I had in watching it for the first time (had to record on tape because I was at school)

I actually saw it in Italian first. It was the mid 90s and me and my family went to Italy to visit my dad's side of the family. My grandfather had a tv that had it on a certain channel. (i remember watching soccer, InuYasha, and the Super Mario Bros. live action movie specifically.) At first I had no idea what it was until i saw the elevator scene where they suit up. I had no idea the movie even existed as a kid before that. I freaking loved it. I tracked down the VHS tape in English when i got back to the US and watched the whole thing beginning to end. It ended up being one of my favorite movies alongside stuff like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman movies. I later found the comic based on the cancelled sequel and it was actually kinda good. It was gonna be themed around Super Mario Bros. 2 for NES but darker and more realistic. Like it had Shy Guys riding ostriches and everything. It also mentioned Wart as some kinda mob boss.

I saw it once when I was younger and I thought it was one of the worst movies I had ever seen. I was also disappointed that it in no way resembled the games.
