Delisted and Lost Games

Ahh I see. Sorry, 12 was the last I played. Lost interest from then on.
Very reasonable reaction, honestly. XIII is my favorite in the entire series but I get crucified at least monthly for that opinion. XIV was fun for a month, I'm not big on MMOs. XV was cool but it has 0 replay value for me. I never got around to XVI, not sure if my PC can run it.

I don't really like 13, but I certainly won't criticize you for liking it, I'm not this kind of person. Rather, when you feel willing, I'd love to hear from you in a PM why you like it; maybe I never gave it a fair shot.

I haven't played 15 and I'm sure 16 is only runnable if you have a NASA mainframe. Plus I resent the action RPG direction the series took.

I know! I miss the turn based system. Something about the story writing just got so much more...formulaic? Its like they stopped wanting to take risks and just keep chugging out the same stuff that 'works'.

I kind of understand why they would. Sure people praise you when a risk works well, but the fan base is so rabid about mistakes.

True for every fanbase to some extent, yes, for better or worse... mostly worse.

Jokes aside, there is a bunch of japanese cellphone games that we only know about through articles and hear-say on the net.
Kingdom Hearts Coded and Final Fantasy VII Before Crisis in particular are notable for this, though efforts in preserving Coded have been coming along pretty well, to the point that an emulator's been made for the phone it released on, and you can play the demo portion that iirc came with every one of the phones. I'm not sure how well Before Crisis has been preserved, but I'm fairly certain that there's a good amount of decent quality screenshots and gameplay out there.
The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai was a tough, grimey, indie hack 'n' slash game released on Xbox360 arcade that was developed by the fella who would go on to make Salt & Sanctuary/Salt & Sacrifice, two solid 2D Souls-likes.

As far as I know, the game received no physical release, and the link on the developers website redirects to the Xbox Arcade online store, which returned no results when I searched for it.
They also made Charlie Murder, which thankfully was released on Steam, and is still fully playable, with multiplayer and everything! It's kind of odd that the sequel was ported to PC, but the original wasn't... I'm sure that if a copy of the 360 files for the game were released (if they haven't already been), it would be possible to emulate it using Xenia.

Section 8 and Prejudice.

They used to fill the void that the loss of Tribes left in my life.

Shame that nobody else played the games, though...

The original BS is lost but you can play the remake

FFXIII is my all time favorite game! It’s super risky and the most advanced in every way in my opinion but still a final fantasy, It also was the biggest growing pains for me as an audience in that realize now that I won’t notice when I miss things and it’s entirely my fault.

For delisted games I think summon night 6 and digimon world cybersleuth 1 are the only delisted I know off hand, playing summon night 5 right now and I love it so far, it’s a bigger deal that I realized.

It's my understanding that Versus XIII was retooled into Type Zero. Is that wrong?
Unfortunately it was retooled from being a Nomura game being a slightly tweaked Nomura game. (Context: I don’t buy the false hype that VSXIII and Nomura’s so called “lost vision” was gonna save the industry, but that’s likely the KH pessimist in me)
