For me, controller were always the best way to play a videogame, due to how comfortable and convenient it its. I've played games on Mouse and keyboard before but for me it doesn't feel as good. Maybe because i've grown up with more consoles games than computer games. What do you guys think? Is one better than the other, or it depends on the game you're playing?

Depends on which you most comfortable with, I'm fine with anything, controller, mouse and keyboard, flightstick, fightstick, be it with hands or with feet, I'm versatile, the only thing I can't use is a trackpad.
Granted I went out of my way to actually train and learn to play like that.

Oh yeah?

For me it depends on the game, and even then I kind of fudge it a bit. I have a n52te programmable keypad that I tend to use for games like Fallout 4, or when I played Genshin Impact. I couldn't imagine not using a controller for games like the Lego games.

I tend to prefer a controller these days except for RTS games or anything else where you pretty much need a mouse to click on things. I used to prefer mouse and keyboard though. I even used to emulate games with a keyboard and used to be able to play them pretty well with one.

I'm ambidextrous and just the same have no extreme preference one way or the other.
Inverted camera/non-inverted makes no difference to me, neither does old school pc input pose a problem like arrow key movement only, with buttons limited to the left hand. However stiff and terrible joysticks like the Atari 2600 is where I draw the line. My 2600 Jr is SEGA Controller ONLY.
I had the misfortune to play Donkey Kong on the ColecoVision "paddle" at a convention and a new hand cramp was unlocked that day I can tell you. Lucky for me I had already played Pepsi Man.

I like using the analog sticks on pads for racing games because they're much easier to make small angle adjustments with. And of course I use pad when emulating because those games are made for it and thus feel better to play with.

For everything else, it's keyboard and mouse. I find it more comfortable than pad and it offers way more options for changing controls for your preference. There's 104 buttons on my keyboard and 6 on my mouse and I'm going to use every single one of them.

I think it's really funny that I used to be mocked for playing fighting games on a keyboard instead of a controller or stick. Now leverless designs are extremely popular and that's just a roundabout keyboard.

I like both, so I choose depending on the game. If it's a racing game or a beat 'em up, I'll always prefer a controller, great example being Spider Man 2, any NFS game I might be playing, and all the Yakuza games, though that last one is because keyboard and mouse controls are terrible in some of them.

The one I have right now is a MOCUTE 054. It's manageable for most games, but the deadzone is a little annoying when wanting to make small movements.

As for anything that is better with precise camera control and especially first person stuff, usually keyboard and mouse is better. The games I can think of where I prefer keyboard and mouse are Minecraft, Skyrim, Half Life 2, and usually anything that doesn't have good controller support, like SRB2.

My current keyboard is a Redragon Vajra, and my mouse is a Redragon Centrophorus. I asked for these two in a combo as a birthday present back in 2019, and the fact I can use them confortably after over 5 years is a statement to the quality of these. I've typed entire essays on SSDs and GPUs for instance and it all still works. Pretty good if you ask me.

I primarily use a controller for Souls games and JRPGs. For all other genres, I use a keyboard and mouse. Neither is better than the other, it's just personal preference based on what you grew up on or how you like to play your games.

I’m also considering purchasing an arcade controller or a hitbox in the near future for fighting games.

Depends on the game. If I'm playing an FP game, then obviously control pad - it just feels more natural.

I'm not one of those mouse/keyboard elitists; I use whatever feels comfortable to me. A lot of the time that's control pad, but that's just how it is with me - I'm not going to refuse to play a game just because it uses a control system that isn't immediately comfortable to me unless it's too complicated for its own good.

Depends on the type of game.
If I'm emulating a console game (PS1, PSP, Gamecube, etc.) Then controller's the best (and default) choice.
If it's a PC game I'm playing, then mouse and keyboard are self explanatory.

Mouse and Keyboard - RTS
Arcade Stick - Fighting Games
All the rest - Controller

I blame the fact that I got late into PC gaming, I've been a console gamer for the majority of my life so I feel more confortable using a joystick

And one of the obvious benefits of a controller is everything's right there. But sometimes it just doesn't work.

Mouse and Keyboard for me. My right thumb is unable to make fine adjustments with the right stick so if anyone saw my player character in a FPS game they'll just see them changing the direction they are pointing at in large sharp random turns.
Aaand I ruined some of the tendons around my left thumb playing D-Pad action games on the Sega Saturn.

I have this, the old Daigo Umehara MadCatz Classic. Though I used it for Dark Souls Remastered PS4. Used it to get the silver serpent ring and grinding in the Painted World of Ariamis as well as cutting off Seath the Scaleless' tale and just continuing to use the Zweihander.

to be fair, it all depends on which game you're playing. for first person shooters, mouse and keyboard work best. while platform games benefit most from using a controller.

I think it more relevant to games and platforms. For me keybord and mouse was better because I never have my own console or controllers. I play sniper elite 3 with controllers and it was so good but when I play it on pc I feel better because I more comfortable with that. I also hate when the battery run out in middle of important place like last moment of boss or an online game like fortnite.

Largely depends in the game. Fighting games or other games demanding high precision inputs such as a Soulslike or DMC absolutely require a controller IMO.

KB/M works best for genres that are normally associated with PC like FPS and RTS.

I'd say it depends on the game. For games like platformers and vehicle/flight based games, where a full range of motion is required, I'd say an analog stick is ideal. For games where you're mostly moving in four directions or less, like first-person shooters and 2D platformers, I prefer a mouse and keyboard.

Mouse and keyboard specifically for games like Project X Zone and SRW.

Controller for everything else.
games like Project X Zone work better with a mouse and keyboard because a keyboard offers a lot more options/quick keys for strategy games.
