Nice game. You can alternate between a straight shot with a shield and a spread shot by picking powerups. Each powerup adds a bomb, which briefly boosts your weapon in ship form or throws a super punch in robot form. That seems to be all the robot form does. You get some HP, one life and infinite continues. Exploiting the invincibility from picking items and using bombs is crucial to survival, with the game starting out easy but turning out much harder on the fifth boss and the final level.
you recharge hp faster in robot form, that's what it's good for boss

What's the differance between "shoot'em up" and "shoot'em all" genres? :v??
nomenclature lol

Hopefully someone translates the Japanese version. They changed the images in the intro and ending. They also altered the story.

NES Ending
Famicom Ending

I guess they were trying to do it like how it would've been done in the 90's when games were brought over from Japan, but that's just stupid.
Agreed. That's an aspect of the 90s I don't want revived.

Limited Run pulled the same unfunny "joke" with the NES cartridge of Amazon's Training Road. Among other distasteful business practices. Clearly, they are too young to remember that decade through any lens of wisdom.

Late to the party like always. Link is dead. I like to think I'm pretty good at finding things online, but having a tough time with this. Any help?
The Japanese version is on archive.org
Just search "estique".

There are different openings and endings in the JP version though.

Do you have link or clue? Big thx

Would definitely buy it on itch or anywhere if they would have a digital version as well. Games looks amazing and would also gladly write a review about it.

Dude please i'm not twisting anything.
I made the post because you made fun of those people going as far as claiming they should be grateful people pirate the game to get internet points.
I will never judge anyone for pirating stuff or not, my personal belief is any form of culture shouldn't be gated, then again i simply understand that work need to be compensated, they have costs so they decided to release cartridge only.
You can't play the victim here just because you got called out on your bs.

“You made fun of people”
“play victim”
Last time I checked, criticizing someone for -the worst business model I have ever seen for an NES game in 2025- doesn’t necessarily mean I’m making fun of them. However, if they want to interpret it that way, it’s up to them to be completely out of touch with the market they operate in. Just because I’m lambasting someone doesn’t mean I consider the work itself asinine.
Please take a look at the first sentence you started off your reply with, and reassess what it means to quote someone, paraphrase, or reinterpret.
p.S. why are you so personal about this? Me getting called out on bullshit on a romhacking forum? Come on man, it’s not 2005

Deliberately misunderstanding the intent of my post is not very nice.

Believe or not it takes more than 2 dollars to pay all the people involved, did you check the actual page?
A studio of ten people worked on this, the game is niche they won't sell many copies regardless of quality.
IF they sell the cartridge for 60 they have a chance of paying the salary of all ten.
Complaining people don't work for free is complete lunacy, selling the rom is the same problem, if it's too pricey people won't buy it and even if they sell it for cheap it will be pirated anyway.
They already know the game will be pirated, they're hoping to sell enough physical copies to justify the effort.
Be grateful someone is working on actual game instead of scamming you out of money with gatcha.

I never said I'm trying to pay for the salary of 10 people, nor would I ever be interested, nor is it wise to try and have the salary of 10 people rely on a limited cartridge release of an NES game. I'm well aware of what goes into having your own business - I have one. However, my business is not built on demand-rising strategies built on the back of intentional scarcity.
A high moral ground in this situation is completely and utterly useless in the face of most people that wouldn't even think about paying CLOSE to 30 bucks for an NES game, never mind 60. Especially if it's not super great.
Up your ass. Lunacy he says. How about you don't twist my words to make yours look like they have any real world relevancy? We can all pretend this is lovely and soulful, but masquerading a game as a collector's item or vice versa will never provide them with the finances to actually pump out a legitimate game studio.
A person that would have never bought the game in the first place, resorting to piracy, would have never even considered paying the full price for the physical when subscription services that give you access to hundreds of games exist. Oh! Another cool alternative! Better games at reseller shops for 5 bucks, or bundle lots on ebay that sell 20 ps3 games for 50 bucks!

tl;dr
Me not buying the game at all (and I would have never considered it in 10 thousand years) vs playing a pirated copy of it has no financial impact on them.

I regularly pay for 2 dollar itch.io games to support devs, as well as support multiple romhacking patreons. HOWEVER keeping this beyond a paywall of 60 with my third world salary - let’s just say bub should be happy he gets a review for recognition. Imagine releasing a physical only music album in 2025.

I wouldn’t pay more than 15 USD for Doom DarkAges despite it being fun, hence gamepass;
what makes this dude think his product has an equal or higher value?

lol, is this a demo, or is it a "demo"?
Oh, it's just a demo...
You'll never catch me being ungrateful on this site, don't get me wrong this site's existence is a miracle, it's just... this just feels like an ad tho lmfao
Afaik it is a demo.
Of course it is to create awareness.
This publisher is known for issuing takedown notices so I'm not gonna expose myself for a NES game.

However people may have shared alternatives. ::winkfelix

This is pretty cool, i'd gladly support them. That sweet box and manual, love physical editions when i can get my hands on them.

This game is very hard and No weapon power up? Only you can get is change weapon and Bomb(Invincible and power up weapon for 3sec).. It's a shame that the Robot form don't make any big different except Bomb and the hit box is bigger.. A lot of potential to be the Thunder Force for Nes but now it's a Ok game that pushing the Nes limit..
$60? Nar.. You can find the updated rom online.. I think Spike should found it too but he just want protect the author
PS: if not message me
