A hack that proves that sometimes subtle changes make a big difference: what this does is optionally remap subweapon use to the R button, making using them while climbing or descending stairs much more precise. Even on level ground, this is a much more practical configuration.

If there's one hack I wish to see, it's one that fixes the terrible backflip control. For context In the PCE version, the window to successfully perform a backflip is until the peak of your initial jump. The SNES window is almost nonexistent. It's minor but it's lead to more hits that what I would have had otherwise.

Very much let down by its small bestiary and the massive repetition of the spear guys. Many stages repeat the same combat challenges verbatim and said enemies are much more fustrating to fight than the PCE version.
I had no idea about the backflip timing (I honestly often forget it's even there), so I appreciate the explanation.

Thanx for this but it's still a terrible game. One of the worst games in the entire series. Terrible stage design.

Ehhh....gracias. Lástima que no exista una forma de hacer que esta versión se parezca más a la de PC Engine

Ehhh....thanks. Too bad than not exist a way to make this version more closer to the PC Engine.
Play the PSP remake which includes the original Rondo of Blood; there you can configure the secondary weapon to the other buttons.

This is definitely not the PC Engine version, more like a consolation prize, but I'm always for good tweaks. They make bad games slightly better.

I have always wanted this. You'd think that it's sort of within arms reach, since the animations already exist. And for a popular franchise that someone would be interested in making it. Alas
