What game was on the megadrive where you drive a mecha and you are trying to save some chick. Cannot remember for hte life of me. The game had an awsome sound track. The intro was damn anime for the time, and i was hyped. The game was meh, but it is messing with me that i cannot remember the name.

There was also a PSone game which can be classed as resident evil but samurai. No not onimusha, thts ps2, this game is PSone, and had a kechuki and some kind of ronin in it, he had a white and pink kimono but he looked like chad, so any one would allow it as the zombies needed to be put down! NAme that game, as i cannot!

Sounds like Soul of the Samurai. It's basically like Onimusha before Onimusha.

Nope this looks nice, but not the right one. In the one i am thinking of you have total 360 control over a 2 d plain, and you fight in a desert in the first stage.
Does it play like Final Zone or Granada?

I want to say Robo Aleste, which has multiple "desert" stages, and a slightly anime presentation, but that's for the Sega CD.

Sparkster, Exo-Squad, and Ranger-X also come to mind.

Mega Turrican?

If we are talking about anime intro, GleyLancer comes to my mind... but it's not about mecha!

Genesis/Mega Drive had M.U.S.H.A. Aleste. It has mecha and an anime opening, although it doesn't seem to match the desert as the first stage or the plot of rescuing someone.

No Aleste game gives you "360 2D control over a plain", they're shmups. He can't be talking about too many games.

Defo not turrican game.

Mecha in the deserk, think the background of desert strike, but it is a mech suit. When the guy dies, if you lose the game, it will show a sunset with the mecha holding the guy and then a women with pink hair which asks continue?

Not sure if same game, but this looks familier if this helps?

Nah not mech warrior, i watched a video recently to check and while the game play did look simular, the mech was different and no first person. The continue screen was super anime, wiht the mech holding the piolate during a sunset, and then changing to the pink haired woemn asking if you want to continue. It is such an odity from the mega drive.

There where a lot, i only found magic flying hat which was simular to psycho fox if any one remembers them. And it blew my mind, that they where the same game with one revamped and resould as a different game.

This mech game has been killing me a while, and i cannot for the life of me remember it's name. If i ever find it again, i will replay it just to finish it, as i remember it being super hard!

Nah no first person. This does look good though!

Do you think you can share the video? It might somehow help...

Totally understand you! I still haven't found my own lost MegaDrive game! 😭
I have checked the entire library of MegaDrive games more than 3 times and through various rom downloading sites, but to no avail! 😢
And damn, it was easily one of the best MegaDrive games i have ever seen! it's really strange that i can't find any sign of it! 🙁

I hope your game is not like that and you can find it! 🥹

There's so many games that partially fit for your description that aren't the game, I'm wondering if a couple different gaming experiences have been blended together in memory over the years. Just for fun I'll throw out Alisia Dragoon.

I thought about Mech Warrior, but it just didn't seem to quite line up with any of the other descriptions. Neither does this entirely, but have a look at Final Zone.

Ouch, indeed i feel this.

Regarding Video,it was for mechwarrior / Battletech, as the way it plays looks like that game. But it is not the same.

See video:

Regarding your one, for some reason i started to think of a mastersystem game, which is playable on megadrive with a converter.

The one i was thinking about was: Master of Darkness. See video:

You may have played it on the megadrive with the converter. Sorry if some one proposed this.

Checking these out and will get back to you. The game over screen is key, as that will 100% confirm that it is the right game. Mecha holding piolate in arms, over a sunset and that changes to a pink heared women who asks continue?

Oh man, checked all the way though this one, and i must be coming off as desprate if i have now looked up a Video for "game over screen" on megadrive.

But even so, did i find it. No i found nothing! absolutly nothing!

I don't rule out that possibility... but the strange thing is that i have found all other games i played on the same day or close to that date...
Including:
Revenge of Shinobi, Desert Strike, Battletoads, Streets of Rage 1, Bare Knuckles 3, James Bond 007, International Superstar Soccer Deluxe, Beauty and the Beast - Roar of the Beast, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and more...

My memory was pretty accurate about all of them... that's the only one that i couldn't find!
Just for fun I'll throw out Alisia Dragoon.
Thank you so much! 😊
The game is great, but isn't the one i lost... and yep, i have already checked it.

This video is actually about to the same game that i shared earlier!
If your game is similar to this, then i think it can help in finding it! ::terriermon-happy

It's possible... all the games and consoles we used were bootlegs, and all sorts of sorceries were used in them...
Probably i should search the games of other consoles too...

A cool game! but not the one i lost...

There's not that many isometric games for the Genesis/Mega Drive overall, and even fewer of them are mech related, so if it's not Final Zone or Battletech, then I think I'm personally stumped!

As Others have said, it might be a bootleg (early homebrew) i got fromsome place. But it is killing me that i cannot find it again.

What are the chances it wasn't a mech but the bulky guy from Skeleton Krew?
This is one of my many favorite MD games so you never know

I am not aware of any bootleg isometric mech games for the mega drive

We have full ROM sets and I don't see anything on there other than what's already posted....

NOW, there IS a game where you go in all directions with a tiny blue mech but it's not isometric. I have it right here among my physical games, dunno why I even have it I was never a fan, must have bought it in a batch with something important.

Fatal Rewind

you're basically on some game show and you have to do...stuff
I hate game shows games so because of that premise alone I hate it lol

Also looks cool, but no not this one. I do not see pink haired anime girl asking for "continue?" if you game over. Also the mech holding the dude during a sunset was striking. That game over screen i think is key to identifying the game. Good effort though!

I didn't read those details, I was going off earlier posts or I missed them, sorry bro.
So did you go over the SegaCD and 32x libraries too? Because NOW I recall playing an ismetric Mech game on either SegaCD or 32x or a 3d one that might match this that or you mandela effected me

A free Game Maker game from the Windows XP days where you flew around as an armored guy with a jetpack in a side-scrolling futuristic city. It felt a little like Grand Theft Auto in that it was a rampage simulator but I don't think you could actually steal vehicles. It had a soundtrack of real songs (doubtlessly they were used without permission but nobody cared because nobody was making money off of it) including Crawling by Linkin Park. You could make custom weapons by editing text files in the game folder. I wanted to look for it on archive.org but I can't seem to remember the name of it.

A memory brought up by @It's Thinking 2 's Bootleg Mac games post:

When I was young, I was playing with a cousin at my grandparents house. He had brought an Oldschool Gameboy with him:

Very good cuz. Right on!

He had a nifty little carrying case for games and I remember going through them thinking "wow, these are neat!" Tried some out, had fun. There was the usual assortment of Tetris, some space shooters or another, Kirby, etc-etc. But I remember one in particular that stood out. It was a Super Mario cartridge! Not just any Mario cartridge, though, but a mysterious one! You see, the game was clearly an unlicensed/bootleg game.

I saw the label and recognized the characters right away: Mario and Luigi. But something was different here... these weren't the friendly illustrated Brothers I was used to seeing! No, instead, gracing the cover of the cart were the likenesses of none-other than Bob Hoskins and John Leguizamo! The Mario Bros. from one of my (at the time) favorite movies!
At the time I didn't know any better; games were made about movies all the time. I thought it was in-line with all the RoboCops and Terminators and so on. Clearly I was wrong.

The cart looked something like this:

This is a real quick and dirty mock-up of what I remember. Not the actual cart.
In reality the photo of the two was different (it had the two actors standing shoulder-to-shoulder naturally, not superimposed) and the background behind them was white.
But just like in the mock up here there was no title or text or description. Just the photo.

The game itself was janky nonsense. No title screen, no intro, just plop into the game. I'd later come to recognize the assets as It appeared to use the sprite of Mario from Super Mario Land 2
View attachment 1020
But no power-ups, no little Mario sans-Mushroom, just as he is there.
One could jump and run, so there was that. I recall a few baddies (goombas, most likely) But the game only scrolled for a little bit until one reached a wall/cliff. The top of which was juuuuuust higher than Mario could jump so... well, that was the end of it, I assume. We never got past that part and moved onto something else.

Years would go by and I'd mention this to folks around either at school or on the net and no one would have any idea what I was talking about. There's no mention of the cart or game on the web, no one's ever seen the that weird level before, its a mystery.
There's a whole scene of enthusiasts for knock-off/bootleg Nintendo that this also eludes. I am absolutely stumped.
I've actually gotten some sh*t from folks claiming the story and the game are all BS; made-up internet nonsense. To them I say "NAY"!

It was certainly a real thing and not a dream or misremembered instance because on a subsequent visit from that same cousin I had asked about it and he talked about how he traded all his Gameboy stuff for a GameGear citing that game. But the trail goes cold after that. No origin. Nothing.

I have a theory though!
My uncle (his father) was in the tech profession and lived in San Fran. He was always around and wheelin' & Dealin' with the techie-type folks. My guess is that the cart was perhaps a homebrew/ethusist thing he had come across originating from one of his peers or clients.
But that's just a guess.
Who even knows?

So, RGT cohorts, my call unto thee:
Has anyone ever seen or heard of this thing? Or anything similar?
reminds me of when I was a kid, we had a single mom and her older son staying with us, he was in like his mid-20's, and he had a Dreamcast-- disctinctly a Dreamcast and not a Nintendo device. he was working on something on it, he had a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on it with 2 save files, one was a normal new save file, the other was most of the way through the game, and he warned not to mess with it, don't save over it, not that you could. He let me play that save, and it opened at The Temple of Time, with Sheik inside, you could talk to them but I was so young, I couldn't actually read what was being said, I just remember it had a few text boxes but no cutscene. There wasn't anything to do in the Temple, so I walked outside, and the outside was a long graveyard with rows upon rows of graves, 4 graves per row. The space between them was kind of difficult to navigate, and after you passed I think the 3rd row, redeads would crawl out of them and start to chase you. I could never get past them, and this was my first experience with Ocarina of Time, so I determined that it was a very hard game at a certain point.

Years later I play the game for real (the gamecube port) and naturally that segment never pops up. In fact, I talked about this guy's Dreamcast a couple times on the playground and was called a liar because Zelda was never on the Dreamcast.

I never saw the guy again, but I think he had figured out N64 emulation, maybe? And was working on his own bootleg game. I wonder if he ever finished that project.
