Best Visual Novels for PC

I haven't played too many, but House in Fata Morgana (and its semi-sequel) is a pretty touching read. People complain that it has too much text, and, there is indeed something to that. A lot of repetition in its writing.

MAMIYA is a pretty engaging mystery too. More than that, it has some lovely character writing.

Fata Morgana kind of put me into a dead calm when I was playing it, sort of a sobering experience, and Mamiya made me feel like I was going insane in a good way.

I think it would be easy obvious to point at novels written by Ryukishi07, the ones made by Type-Moon, 5pb or key... So, If I would think about any novel that I enjoyed that wasn't written by the "big fishes"... I guess most of Charon's work. They biggest good point and flaw is that they are short enough to play from beginning till end while you drink a coffee or something, and, at the same time, that. They are too short, every one of them. Kinda logic considering that most of their "twist" could not work in a game that is one hour or more longer. And even some of them are just kinda bad or fucked up, and not in the surprising way, but the disgusting one. (like the one in little red hood, I guess most japanese writers always have something disgusting at their name.)

Aside of Charon and the other big fishes mentioned, most of what I enjoyed are yuri, but most yuris are eroges. Is kinda meh when I want to read some of them to remember my past relationships in a good way with the wholesome moments but I end up pressing CTRL every 2 or 5 seconds because of the amount of sex scenes that they have, so I couldn't talk about them too much because of that.

You got any recs for yuri ero or just yuri in general? Ive read kindred spirits, blackberry honey, the flowers series, it gets so lonely here, and Renai Bakudan.

You have a lot of ero yuri out there to even mention one, guess I can mostly recommend you the Sono Hanabira series, they aren't too long but they are a lot, tho they don't have too much diversity in the dynamic of the relationships. Is always the motherly one X the curious/relaxed or tsundere.

If only yuri without the ero, most of nomnomNami works, one of my favs is Her tears were my light, I loved the mechanic (Yeh, mechanic, something weird to say about a VN) of that one.

Punch Line was the last VN I was into. Phenomenal gameplay and scenes, the story was pretty interesting from what I experienced.
If I had to recommend an eroge/nsfw VN I'd say DohnaDohna is up there in my top 5. Perfect mix of real RPG gameplay, good cheesy story with the perfect blend of comedy and H-scenes.

Recently finished gore screaming show, amazing read. Gore by himself makes it worth reading. Read it for eroguro walked out hope pilled. Yuka has my favorite route out of the heroins.

Hundred lines takes the first stop now
There is Hardly any VN game that can top the sheet amount if content it has

My Top 10 for Visual Novels :

- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations

Do I need to introduce this game? My favourite episode in the Ace Attorney saga.

- G-senjou no Maou: The Devil on G-String

A breathtaking thriller with an ambiguous hero, a charismatic central heroine, and a memorable "true Route".

- I/O

It's not very well known, but I love its tortured narration, its cyberpunk universe, and its references to Babylonian mythology.

- Steins;Gate

A classic among classics. It's probably because of this title that I definitively caught the Visual Novel bug.

- Kara no Shoujo

I was deeply affected by its terrifying atmosphere and its alluring setting (Japan, just after the Second World War).

- Fate/stay night

Another classic among classic. Tohsaka Rin is one of two waifus and i love the references to various mythologies.

- Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

Upupupu...

- YU-NO (the old version, just for the retro Character Design)

Maybe not for everyone. Several of my friends were shocked by its content. And its gameplay is completely outdated. Yet I find this old game to be positively mad and full of interesting ideas.

- Raging Loop

The game of werewolf revisited and corrected. With a charismatic anti-hero as the protagonist.

- Kara no Shoujo - The Second Episode

magnificent sequel. Some might even say it's better than the first episode (it's true that the storytelling is probably better developed).

Only one mention of Baldr Sky in 6 whole pages is criminal. Worth a play, censored or not. The R18 scenes are such a minuscule part of the game that it barely even matters IMO.

Also strongly recommend Dead End Aegis. Just be mindful it has some really vile content sprinkled throughout. Ueda Metawo is a great artist and is usually worth checking out.
