Hi everyone. What is your favorite F.E.8 hack? To be clear, those that can be found, for all tastes, on FEUniverse. Please, if you can, name just three, as if it were an Olympic podium. As far as I'm concerned, Andaron Saga is undoubtedly the best, from all points of view; an accurate and painstaking work that is practically professional. Silver medal for Vision Quest, followed in third place by Code of Black Knights. In truth, you will easily find many other interesting hacks with original and fun ideas on the aforementioned site. Honestly, these three are the ones I remember most, perhaps because they have the best features, but many others have fascinated me over the years. Come on, let's hear your preferences.
I ? Y'all. ?

I prefer cool gameplay ideas and support for my favorite style of play, Ironman, over story hacks. So Iron Emblem gets the nod for me.

Played all 3 of those yet The Dark Amulet ended up being my favorite. The story was nice, and all the characters really stood out.

Only downside is that alot of characters are plot essential (Them dying leads to a gameover) before certain chapters. This and character's being niche makes it very ironman incompatible

For me it's without a doubt 4 Kings, I love how everyone has a PFP weapons and how tight and challeging the maps are even on easy mode.

Quick Sidenote did you know they recently announced a release date for Rebellion Saga

I had completely forgotten about this title; For now I'm immersed in Curse of Lagdou, but that will be my next.

Never heard of it. If it's the sequel to Andaron Saga, I'll definitely play it. Thanks for the news. I'll keep an eye on it.

I was in awe with the FE1 recreation on the FE8 engine. Sure, it's not original content, but it's so lovingly made that it is impossible to ignore.

IMO, GBA is where FE was at its best, so seeing other games recreated with that look and feel is pure bliss. If path of Radiance was remade in this way I would be elated.

Fully agree. Imagine that I was the one who suggested to the author to replace his initial characters (presumably taken from SNES) with others wonderfully recreated by another user. Shortly afterwards I was banned from FEUniverse, for a completely different reason: my criticism for having unfairly excluded Andaron Saga from that site. There should be a thread of mine on this topic.

Still totally agree, buddy.

I remember reading about a few back in like 2008 or so when I used to frequent Serenes Forest. The only one I remember that was completely finished that I gave a shot was a hack called The Last Promise.

Wasn't bad, wasn't great.

The last promissed is the first major FE hack, it was mostly made by at the time 1 year old, and It's infamous for it's bad writting.

There's also Deity Device. Always wanted to try that one but the author took down the post and links

Guys, remember that on February 28th the sequel (actually the prequel) of Andaron Saga will finally be released; that is to say, Rebellion Saga. If the first one was great, this one promises to be even better. I can't wait! ?

Rebellion Saga is finally out!
Guys, after a long wait we can finally enjoy this wonderful title, which promises to be the best Fe8 hack ever. Of the same quality level as its predecessor (Andaron Saga), now at ch.5, I can confirm that it is a refined and excellent product, where every little detail (regarding plot, dialogues, graphics and gameplay) is treated with extreme care, love and dedication. If you love the FE series for GBA like me, you can't miss this title. Then, on real hardware, it's an insane pleasure!

because of its creator's reputation? I don't know much about the drama surrounding him and don't want to know. Andaron is very high quality though. Vision Quest is good but the former is on another level entirely tbh.
