Billy never again, apparently. He's the worst casualty of the RE Partner Character Curse where they're set up to have a character arc and appear again, only to never be seen again. Sheva as well, Jill's partner from Revelations I can't remember the name of.
Sheva's throat slit finisher is so sick
It bums me out because if they made up some of the best melee attacks for
Josh, they no doubt couldve done cool stuff for Billy; I wonder if he was ever considered..
Like a molotov cocktail coup the grace, or some stuff with the knife to reflect his marine training..
With how many action spin offs capcom made of Bio, and with how many tried mixing together settings from past games, I'm surprised they only tried a standalone mercenaries game Once on the 3ds. I never played it but it sure looks cool and I like that they added stuff like 3's outfit Jill, Krauser and Claire.
Just imagine a standalone mercenaries game with either 5 or 6's combat (I like 5's more but Id be happy with either), and its got like 20 characters and maps from all across the series like the RPD, Clock Tower, Spencer Mansion Garden, Umbrella training facility (no idea how you could make the train into a mercenary map as much as I like it) , Ashford estate..
And they have an excuse to bring back all the neglected characters from og Carlos to Jake. And make it in 5's graphical style if you wanna make me happy specifically :p
A fellow man of taste, I see. Helena's quick-fire Hydra roll animations are so godamn fun to do, I can kill a solid hour just rolling around with her (until she's out of stamina, of course).
Haha
When I heard about the game letting you move and shoot I went "Thats it, they're gonna make it uncharted now! It's just gonna be another generic big budget TPS game.."
But then I tried mercenaries, and I was so happy I did. It was clever: moving and shooting is made slow and it was just to give you a little wiggle room, and to allow for the Real movement options which are the dodge and the dives. The fact you can even change direction during a dive is so cool, and how now theres more distinct types of stun, and the guns are more of a way to set up the enemies for whatever manouver you wanna do than a straightforward way to kill them.
And I'm gonna repeat myself: if you go Jake it borderline feels like if you mixed 5 Dynamite Cop or Spikeout, the pistol or smg shots are like Jabs that lead up to invincible grabs.
I was very pleased to see it had fanguides and videos to explain how it all worked,
that combat system couldve been taken out of Biohazard and put into a new Capcom series and I wouldve still loved it!
