Best Resident Evil Games

3Make wasn't a bad game by any means, just I think disappointing following 2Make. They had the perfect layup to make Nemesis even better following the Mr.X formula from 2Make but then kinda dropped the ball on it; he's the most disappointing part of the game unfortunately.
My point, its only consistent flaws are Nemesis no longer being Random or a threat (I agree) and short lenght (Disagree, excluding RE3 being short in its original version the game only axes ONE zone, the clock tower, which yeah i miss but the gameplay was never cut short) yet most people treat the game as if it shot their moms

I'd say my favorites overall are Nemesis, 0, Remake 1 and 4.

I love 1 and 2, but I find myself replaying the ones I mentioned the most whenever I feel like playing Biohazard; alongside Mercenaries 5.

Most of 5 is great, but it's held back by a much weaker story mode, atmosphere and soundtrack compared to 4. Kijuju is cool, the village aint bad either, but the factories and ship are kinda nothing special, same with the bosses. Mercenaries mode on the other hand is just fantastic, and co op makes it even Better.
If only Billy was in Mercenaries Reuinited...

Honorable mention to Mercenaries in 6, it's way way better than the entirety of 8 and 4 remake, great combat system, very intricate.
Whilst re4 remake really gutted the melee attacks by making their hitboxes much smaller and worse for crowd control, and by making the the enemies more aggressive and less distinct and with inconsistent hitstun values, the way the guns in 6 are so integrated with the melee almost makes it feel closer to a 3D beat em up than a TPS; and despite making you able to move and shoot they still remembred limitation creates depth and creativity, and didnt just turn it into cod\tlous like remake 4. Where the best strategy will always be: back away and shoot, safely get headshots, circle strafe and shoot, parry.

Positioning still mattered, backing away and shooting is made slow so you gotta still always keep in mind your positioning from the enemies', but in a different way than 4 or 5 now you gotta do stuff like dodging or diving or switch-cancel the shotgun. There is a Pseudo parry with the counter system, but I still find it more interesting: because aside of the timing being strict, you can find ways to buffer it by aiming at the one enemy you expext to do the attack, and then release the aim and buffer the counter command.
Also it still retains some cool stuff from 5 like being able to do co op melee combos (it even expanded upon it), or reload guns\mix herbs from your inventory while you do a melee.

I'd love to see another game with this combat system, since 4s combat had two mainline games that really let it shine, and without walk-and-yap and QTEs

Dude. no.

Just... no.

Billy never again, apparently. He's the worst casualty of the RE Partner Character Curse where they're set up to have a character arc and appear again, only to never be seen again. Sheva as well, Jill's partner from Revelations I can't remember the name of.

A fellow man of taste, I see. Helena's quick-fire Hydra roll animations are so godamn fun to do, I can kill a solid hour just rolling around with her (until she's out of stamina, of course).

[GROAN] The animesque/Resident Alice stunts are not "so goddamn fun to do", it's clunky, overly circular, and a blatant, janky rip-off of Red Dead Revolver. RE6 sucks! Stop simping for it, Lee_kanker and Octopus.

P.S. And no, the combat system in 6 is NOT "very intricate"; it's a generic Gears of War wannabe with the controls of Red Dead Revolver and a character action melee system stapled on in its feature creep-laden efforts to appeal to everyone under the sun.

Do you do anything else on this website other than complain about other people's opinions?

Did you even read my edits? In these edits, I perfectly explained why RE6 is shit and why your take is equally shitty. I'm usually one for having an opinion, but I wholeheartedly despise RE6 fans like you. Why? Because you don't accept the game for what it is; you feel the urge to fellate it and praise it as something it's not. Now, I can't deny that there are a few people who genuinely like RE6, are aware of what it is and what it got wrong, and still enjoy it regardless, but the majority of the people who like it are terminally online Users who overhype, are dumb, toxic, hateful, delusional and prone to strawman arguments, and will openly harass and misrepresent the majority of people who hate the game like me.

I've even coined the term "The Church of Jake Wesker" to describe you people. You people are a cult. A cult of personality surrounding a shitty videogame. Plain and simple.

I just like Resident Evil 6, I have no idea what any of that even means or how it relates to me.

Oh. False alarm. Sorry. It's just that whenever I see someone praise RE6, the Red Alert sounds in my mind so to speak. I just find the vocal minority of RE6 fans (aka. The Church of Jake Wesker) to be Sonic fan levels of delusional. Your apology shows me that you're not one of them, are instead a normal bloke who happens to like RE6 and I was getting really paranoid.

If you want a portrait of what goes through my mind whenever I hear someone say they like Resident Evil 6, picture the "[gasp] DARLA!!!" gag from Finding Nemo and you have me in a shellnut.

Sheva's throat slit finisher is so sick

It bums me out because if they made up some of the best melee attacks for Josh, they no doubt couldve done cool stuff for Billy; I wonder if he was ever considered..
Like a molotov cocktail coup the grace, or some stuff with the knife to reflect his marine training..

With how many action spin offs capcom made of Bio, and with how many tried mixing together settings from past games, I'm surprised they only tried a standalone mercenaries game Once on the 3ds. I never played it but it sure looks cool and I like that they added stuff like 3's outfit Jill, Krauser and Claire.

Just imagine a standalone mercenaries game with either 5 or 6's combat (I like 5's more but Id be happy with either), and its got like 20 characters and maps from all across the series like the RPD, Clock Tower, Spencer Mansion Garden, Umbrella training facility (no idea how you could make the train into a mercenary map as much as I like it) , Ashford estate..
And they have an excuse to bring back all the neglected characters from og Carlos to Jake. And make it in 5's graphical style if you wanna make me happy specifically :p

Haha
When I heard about the game letting you move and shoot I went "Thats it, they're gonna make it uncharted now! It's just gonna be another generic big budget TPS game.."

But then I tried mercenaries, and I was so happy I did. It was clever: moving and shooting is made slow and it was just to give you a little wiggle room, and to allow for the Real movement options which are the dodge and the dives. The fact you can even change direction during a dive is so cool, and how now theres more distinct types of stun, and the guns are more of a way to set up the enemies for whatever manouver you wanna do than a straightforward way to kill them.
And I'm gonna repeat myself: if you go Jake it borderline feels like if you mixed 5 Dynamite Cop or Spikeout, the pistol or smg shots are like Jabs that lead up to invincible grabs.

I was very pleased to see it had fanguides and videos to explain how it all worked,
that combat system couldve been taken out of Biohazard and put into a new Capcom series and I wouldve still loved it!

Right? I have no idea why Capcom has only tried once to make a standalone Mercs game (3DS was okay, there just wasn't really that much content in it and it felt very budget). Like instead of trying to make an asymmetrical thing like RE:Verse, or Umbrella Corps, or the numerous other attempts at a multi RE that weren't good at all and failed just make Mercs: All Stars or whatever you want to call it with a decent budget. I feel like it would be an easy slam dunk. Mercs in 4Make was even pretty popular from what I've read and seen around. Please, Capcom.

Idk whos working on biohazard now, but at least at the time of 5 and 6 capcom knew how much fans loved mercenaries if they were willing to go All Out in 5 ; and in 6they even updated the it so its unlocked straight from the get-go iirc.
Which makes it all the more baffling as to why they never made it its own game on console and pc, especially since they know older fans love having any excuse to play as legacy characters in past stages

Maybe they saw the ign 6.5 score of the 3ds game and how much they complained that the mode isnt worthy of being its own game? But thats bs, theres no way they dont know many people buy 5 and 6 Just for mercs
