I'm sorry if this has already been asked here before, but what are some of the best Japanese/European PS2 titles that never found their way to the states?

There's only one answer...

I would have loved to play either of the PS2 games that Spumco worked on — Space Fishermen has fantastic character designs and a great concept, and both Yoake no Mariko titles sound like the funniest games ever — why has nobody done a voice acting game since!?

Interestingly, the third Japanese game that was produced with Spumco, Go! Go! Hypergrind, didn’t get released in Japan at all! Maybe there’s a Japanese RGT where the Japanese Gorse is replying to a Japanese version of this very same thread, and mentioned that game.

This game then arrived in America (or rather throughout the world) thanks to the commendable efforts of some willing and generous hackers.

Abarenbou Princess its a cinematic rpg. I really didn't get far in it but the battle system and story was very engaging.

Get Auto Modellista from either Japan or Europe. The handling is completely different and it plays like a dream unlike the abomination that is the American version.

But other than that, of the top of my head...
Alpine Racer 3
Battle Gear 3
Critical Velocity
Fate Unlimited Codes
Fist of the North Star from Arc System Works
Gregory Horror Show
Initial D: Special Stage
Macross from Sega AM2
Metal Slug 3D (It's fun, okay!)
Sega Rally 2006
Sengoku Basara X
Thunder Force VI
Wangan Midnight

Twinkle Star Sprites: La Petite Princesse which is the sequel to to Twinkle Star Sprites on NEO•GEO

Shin Seiki Evangelion 2: Evangelions

It's basically Sims with Eva characters. The best thing is depending on your actions, the story changes and there's a bunch of different endings. Down in that screenshot my man Shinji is doing some icha-icha with Hikari right in front of Toji. Poor guy.

The list is big, the same happens with NDS.

Also Dot hack Fragment and Initial D special stage
Battle Stadium D.O.N was my hero as a kid. It’s like a game that I dreamed about that magically became real. I genuinely still remember when I was going home with fiber of being begging I didn’t pick up a broken disc, or a fake game (aka bootlegs that use other mascots as cover) or a mini game collection/party game (I hate party games so much) but it was a real proper fighter and it was really surreal hearing Naruto, OP and dbz chars being verbally shouted seconds from each other “goku…! Kakashi…! Zoro…! Sasuke…!”, just surreal. Good announcer. I grew up with all three so this was great. They all had dubs here.

I'm not going to claim that "shredded clothing simulator" is great. But dammit if it ain't fun as all hell. Too bad the company who was brining it State-side got cold feet when the ESRB threw a bitch-fit and slapped with an M-rating.

I've played a bit of that Ikki Tousen game, though I didn't play it's story mode.
