Broken Sword, g police and Darius (either one) for some lesser known stuff

Parasite Eve...you can never go wrong with this game. Avoid the sequel unless you like resident evil.

Megaman Legends 1 and 2, Legend of Legaia, and the syphon filter trilogy is also a must. Suikoden series is also ok and Final Fantasy Tactics is still my favorite FF game period.

going over some people haven't mentioned yet.

i've been really enjoying persona 2 is for the past few days.

elemental gearbolt is a nice rail shooter. i need to do a full playthrough of that one.

king's field games might count as "over hyped", but fuck it, they are really atmospheric dungeon crawlers, and were a decent challenge imo.
