Master System Best Master System Titles (According To You)?

I feel like I haven't played nearly enough SMS to make any definitive statements, but from my limited experience; Golden Axe Warrior and Phantasy Star hold the two top spots.

Ignoring Phantasy Star, Power Strike 2 its my pic, its a really well made shmup and don't look at all as a 8bit game I don't have any nitpicking on it. One of the best Compile shmups.

Oddly enough, the SMS version of Ghouls 'N Ghosts is a very far departure from the arcade or Genesis version, but it holds up quite well on its own.

(Unfortunately, the beautiful cover art of the other versions is replaced with this goofyness...)

Arthur can be permanently upgraded in this one, which includes the ability to enhance his run speed, jumping ability, and can even get red armor to take an extra hit - these are all kept after a game over, too! The level design also changed to a degree, but all of the levels and bosses from the arcade version are present and accounted for.

While I don't love it as much as I do the arcade/Genesis versions, the SMS version of Ghouls is still some great fun!

While i doubt anyone would be crowning it the best myself included, i have a fondness for Alex the kid in High-tech world, as it was one of the few games i got 2nd hand from a family friend and played alot (also sucked at it hah).

Never played that many master system games, only exposure i had was the sonic titles i had in a master system emulator for the ps2 and columns because i love columns. Still i will check out some of the games on the thread :3

Rescue Mission, Aladdin, and The Psychic World. Master System has such a high ratio of quality games.

It's easily the second best Aladdin game of the time. SIMS were an excellent team at Sega and nailed this one.

zaxon 3d simply because its the only game i have rn that is compatible with the 3d card expansion and glasses i have for the MS.

1. Wonder Boy in the Dragon's Trap
2. Alex Kidd in Shinobi World
3. Sonic Chaos
4. Power Strike (aka Aleste)
5. Flight of Pigarus (Homebrew shmup)

Model 1 master system is the best-looking master system.
Asterix is also fun but that's probably just cus I'm into the character already.
