So a long time ago in a galaxy far away......

I just watched Revenge of the Sith for the first time in teathers and watched A New Hope at Home.

My hyperfixation has kicked in, and decided that after going to the repo and gather some games from the large universe of Siths, Jedis and Mesa Gungans, i wanna ask for your opinions.

Which is the greatest game to have ever graced this franchise in your opinion? Personally i have only played two SNES Star Wars games so im open to recomendations.

i've pretty much only played the Dark Forces series a great deal but they all hold up fairly well besides maybe some confusing level design at points. i still especially love the earnest camp of the live action cutscenes in Dark Forces 2. it is a bit funny to also think that when it comes to actually using guns, the very first entry for DOS has the best feeling ones.

one star wars game i really really need to get around to playing is Rogue Squadron II on gamecube. that game still looks drop dead gorgeous, doubly so for running at a good framerate and being a console launch title made in about 9 months.

i remember playing this one alot with my friend back in 1996-97
alot of good memories but it hasn't aged well at all

I've enjoyed a bunch of Star Wars games over the years, but my favorite's have to be Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy. I love retro FPS, and the lightsaber combat in the later two is still amazing to this day. Not to mention the GOAT that is Kyle Katarn.

I will yap about my love for Lego Star Wars once again, because it was surprisingly faithful to the movie. I love that scene where they had to use their jedi powers to plug a giant disco ball to the ceiling to play this song and make the pig orcs become distracted by it while strumming their axes like guitars.

I played it as a kid too and hated it. Personally, I really enjoyed the force unleashed games and rogue squadron, but I'm just not a big star wars fan overall.

tbh all Star Wars movies are space opera adventures (with varying degrees of quality) save for Episode III – Revenge of the Sith for trying to make things a little more serious and complex, but even that movie is full of goofy shit.

I love space operas though. I liked the movies up until the sequel trilogy (still watched all three in theatres. Train crash fixation). I just never got WAY into it. I guess I was busy with Bionicle and anime around that time, but I always wished there were more space battles.

In my opinion best star wars games are:

Star Wars Jedi Knight II, Jedi Outcast

Rogue Squadron 2 and 3

KOTOR

Episode 1 Racer

Episode 1 - the phantom menace PS1/pc (not to be confused with jedi power battles). It's not a great game but somehow a lot of fun. Mos Espa level was pretty cool too, carnage!

All the Lego Star Wars games are pretty fun too. The Lego games series started with Star Wars anyway, so I count them.

Easy for me to say.Well my Favorite is Star Wars Battle Front 2 the OG I know shocking ;),i even own it twice on my Ps2 and my Pc i prefer the Pc version as my Ps2 Version is not working properly anymore. And Lego Star Wars the Complete Saga on my Ps3,but I also liked Lego Star Wars the Video Game on my Ps2

Dark Forces, I tend to like those fps that added a few puzzles and platforming, good ambiance and sound design too.
The Flight sims, Old Tie Fighter and Rogue Squadron.
Haven't played the Kotor games, but they seems to be right around my alley.

KOTOR II, but I also have fond memories of Episode 3 on GBA.

This is probably my favorite Star Wars game, can't believe I forgot about it.

So, this is probably no secret to anyone that has seen my post style, but I absolutely love Star Wars. A huge part of that has always been the games to me. If what you're looking for is recommendations, these would be mine, and I apologize in advance for what is likely going to be a long post:

1. Star Wars Battlefront II (2005): This is one of my most played video games of all time. It might actually be the single game I've put the most playtime into. If you get it on Steam, you'll actually still be able to find a decent playerbase during peak hours to play multiplayer with, but this game also has plenty of singleplayer content to keep you busy for a while. The original is also good, but what I'd particularly recommend if you're open to modding is to find a mod that adds the content (maps, mostly) from the first game into the second.
2. KOTOR 1 & 2: These games are absolutely fantastic and have some of the best storytelling you can find from Star Wars games. Again, if you're open to modding, I'd highly recommend using the restored content mod for KOTOR 2, but it's certainly not necessary to have a good time with it.
3. Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga: If you're looking for a charming platformer that isn't too challenging but is still engaging enough to be a good fun time, this is a pretty solid option, but it's also kind of a neat look into some Star Wars history too. The original Lego Star Wars game, which had just the prequels, actually released a couple months before Revenge of the Sith did. You could totally have spoiled that entire movie for yourself just by playing that game. It makes for a neat little time capsule, in a way.
4. Empire at War & Galactic Battlegrounds Saga: If you're looking for a Star Wars RTS, these are both very good options. Empire at War is a pretty original game mechanically, and largely focuses on specifically the Empire vs Rebels, with both feeling really unique from each other. There's some DLC that adds a pirate faction and a new story, and overall the game is just pretty solid. Galactic Battlegrounds is more of an Age of Empires clone, but its also got a fair amount of uniqueness to it and a pretty large number of factions to have fun with. It's probably a bit less balanced overall, but it's definitely worth your time.
5. Republic Commando: Great storytelling, great gameplay, solid FPS with a lot of fairly unique features that involve commanding a small squad of surprisingly competent AI allies. It's one of the most well loved Star Wars titles for very good reason.
6. Pretty much any game that features Kyle Katarn: Kyle Katarn is a Star Wars character that often shows up in major roles in Star Wars games from a certain era, either as the player character or a major NPC, and pretty much every game that features him in it is pretty damn good. Some specific examples though that I'd recommend are Dark Forces, a pretty solid clone of Doom, and the Jedi Knight games
7. Force Unleashed: If you want to play a really solid action RPG where you play as a force sensitive character, and the Jedi Knight games are a little too old for you, Force Unleashed is one of the best alternatives you could go for. I'd also like to recommend Fallen Order here, if you want one that's a little more souls-like and don't care about which continuity you're playing in.
8. Revenge of the Sith on GBA: This is another pretty solid beat-em-up with some action RPG elements mixed in.
9. Pretty much any flight sim: You can't really go wrong with any of these, but Rogue Squadron and X-Wing are both particularly solid. I'm also gonna lump Racer in here, because it's similar enough and is pretty good as far as racing games go.

In general I think it's pretty hard to go wrong with Star Wars games for the most part, and I wish you luck on finding more you're fond of!
