Was thinking about this during a recent 60 Minutes segment covering Boston Dynamics' "Atlas", a fully autonomous robot that uses AI.
Much like dinosaurs, I've always been incredibly fascinated by robots and anything mechanical in general. I remember watching this PBS documentary (that I sadly haven't been able to find online) that talked about them and showed off Honda's Asimo, which I've always desperately wanted to own. But sadly they made it more of a company mascot over the years and never intended for it to be mass-produced
Then there's Sony's Aibo! An adorable robo-puppy that had the ability to learn. Unfortunately way out of the price range of a 10 year old (but one can still dream!)
What about you guys? Any favorite mechanical thingamahbobs, real or imaginary?
