Well, to be fair, high tech folks had a bit of a panicked rush to change the time formatting so important computers didn't overflow and ruin scheduling in a way that it would lead to loss of life. 64 as opposed to 32 bit if I recall.
Oh, that does sound like a big deal, but (just in context to where I was at) I was 8 years old entering the year 2000.
