Agreed! You can also pay for and own the music (which is great and helps the artists as well) and aren't confined to just paying a for a subscription. Which is wild to even think about in the age of streaming

Kinda weird but I never really got into music streaming. Just figured if I ever wanted to listen to any specific artists I just download their stuff via less than legit methods.

Most of the stuff I listen to is older back catalogs that I'm guessing artists have made most of the money they'll make off it anyway so I don't feel too bad about it when I sail the seas. Hell, the most amount of music I've got recently were basically just tracker tunes from pre-6th gen console games.

Nonetheless, considering how incredibly shitty Spotify is to musicians, it's unsurprising the guy running it would have no issue investing into something designed to rack up body counts. To say least, the logic does at least follow if nothing else.

Hard to get mad at what's already assumed/expected at this point.

I'm in the process of removing all my music from spotify, and it's been long overdue. I'm just a hobbyist, but I went from making anywhere from $50-$300 a month to $40 every 3 months because of how greedy the CEO is. Bandcamp and Itunes pay me WAY more.

Same here, eventually using invidious/piped or newpipe cus it feels more practical for me.
