my goal with this was to focus on the bangs since I realized that my understanding of it is somewhat flawed It kinda frustrates me how it feels distorted to one side, but I redraw it so many times I decided I need to settle and move on

I was gonna try using that Ikemen - Fighting Factory thing to make my own fighting game but then I remembered oh yeah I'm a lazy f*** who hates animating stuff. So I'm dabbling with RPG Maker XP instead. Dunno if I'll make anything presentable anytime soon but so far what the program offers is promising....

Maaan I feel ya, stressing about the exact same things
What's funny though is that I actually think this looks great, like the whole image looks nice & nothing looks weird until you focus on parts. I guess most of it is in our heads...

It depends! If this is just a background element I actually think this looks neat & pulls off something nice for minimal effort.
But if you're dabbling in pixel art & this drawing is your main focus, manually animating the glow/light source could be a lot more satisfying (& learn stuff in the process!) imo.

It depends! If this is just a background element I actually think this looks neat & pulls off something nice for minimal effort.
But if you're dabbling in pixel art & this drawing is your main focus, manually animating the glow/light source could be a lot more satisfying (& learn stuff in the process!) imo.

While I appreciate the feedback, I had moved on to a different direction with the drawing, so . . . yeah, sorry dude, no glow effect, but I hope I can still satisfy you when the drawing is finished

Back again with Another Sayaka this time I decided to give this sketch my 200%

I learned that in order to finish a drawing neatly making a color rough helps a lot even tho I really hate doing rough colors

then comes my favourite part doing some really beatiful line-art with impact

then after that I wrestle with coloring and overpaint it to oblivion until I get something I'm satisfied with

I don't really know how to do backgrounds, but like I promised myself that I'm going to give this my 200% so this is the best that I could come up with
