Switch Are you buying the switch 2?

I definitely want it, but it will probably cost a small fortune in my country. I'll have to wait and see the prices here.

No wai. The only game that seems remotely interesting to me so far is the Duskbloods but is it worth paying 500 + dollars for a game that will probably eventually come out on PS5? Probably not.

as i said i had my points and discounts too, but yeah whats wrong with me planning on buying it ? you are talking as the switch is the only thing getting expensive people bought GPUs for 3x msrp as it was nothingthey did that with the ps5 too, its only fair if you have the feelings towards them not only "nintendo fanboys" as i stated i didnt play with my switch for a long time and already sold it waiting for the new one, nothing wrong with that, i want the new switch and the new games, while most people wasted money on the current switch i just saved it for this one

gameboy... gameman... get it ?
Yeah, and I also agree with that. People spending 1000€ on a GPU or 800€ on a PS5 Pro are a no-no for me. In my own culture there is only place for responsible purchases, which means never buy things artificially or wrongly overpriced (by cost of producing + benefit standards) such as Iphones. Also, never buy things that are not necessary within a specific topic or nobody asked for, even if that means not having something I like for good. It's a good philosophy because it makes me save tons of money in exchange of not feeling like I need to get something even if it's part of my hobby. That way I am immune to marketing or advance sales techniques :)

Hey i wanna jump in here real quick since this section is kinda getting heated a lil bit Hawx isn't being wasftful who dont care and just wanna spend money and get the newest things, we got saving on unnecessary things in our culture too but what he is getting at is the new switch is gonna be his daily gaming driver and he planned on getting it for a long time he saved the money and sold his old one just so he doesn't waste more money on having multiple in the first place, his idea was 450 aint that high to stop him and it's not gonna be ridiculously pricy too cuz if it was he will just simply wait on it, also Pricing for the switch just got revealed locally here and it's 510€ max for the switch and the game which is not bad honestly and i don't see a problem in getting it at that price specially when it's your main handheld after selling your old one, Nintendo is trying hard to market here as much as possible even games are priced locally, cheaper with DK and Metroid costing just around 68 dollars not even 90 (physical btw) which is really awesome

Most complainers don't mind the price of the Switch 2. They mind the exceptionally high prices of the games (both physical & digital), that many games like Mario Kart World's physical cart will only carry a License Key and to play the game it must be downloaded (which calls into question if the LK gets register to the unit and is therefore unsellable, and can only be shared via the highly limited Virtual Cards), and the rampant nickel-and-diming ($10 for an interactive instruction manual, dunno how much for the camera, massive amounts of things being locked behind Online including getting a visual upgrade for backward compatibility. Especially when Doug Bowser (formerly of EA) has admitted that game prices have nothing to do with Tariffs, and that the unit in Japan is equal to about $330 and the games equal to about $60.

I'll probably buy one a couple years into it's lifespan after they clear up the inevitable day 1 issues and hopefully lower the pricing of just about everything. It looks like a cool system with some solid release games though.

I thought it was pretty straight forward, but just scrolling through this thread and various news articles I see all of the misinformation being spread around. They ignore CD Project Red being proud that they're launching the full Cyberpunk 2077 game with it's dlc fully on a 64GB Switch 2 game card while looking at Bravely Default and Street Fighter 6 being on Game Key Cards thinking all Switch 2 games are on Game Key Cards. I know in the ideal world Game Key Cards shouldn't be a thing, but it's a step above buying Mega Man X Collection on Switch and getting half of the games on a cart and the other half on a one time use digital code that expires.
But also,
Will you be able to sell/trade the game keys?
Is ANY of the game on the key carts, or is it 100% downloaded?
If a game is delisted from the store, does that render the keys worthless?

I agree it's better than just a piece of paper with a one-use, expiring code, but marginally.

Also pro-tip import the Japanese versions and you get the both (all four?) Mega Man/X collections physically.

Hell no, i haven't even got a switch 1 yet because i think they are still overpriced

I plan on getting it, but not going to fight the scalpers for pre-orders. I just signed up through the Nintendo website and when they e-mail that I can pre-order through them is when I will do it. Originally I was going to wait a year or so before getting a Switch 2 but watching the most recent direct changed my mind with that Mario Kart X Forza Horizon Hybrid aka Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong taking the role of the Hulk. Also knowing that docked will be able to display in 4K and me wanting to get into Xenoblade Chronicles X with their supported online functionality and me not having a Switch anymore just made the dots connect more.

You know XenoX isnt gonna play in 4K right? Its gonna be upscaled to that resolution by your televisions resolution. You can make the game look better by connecting a MClassic on your 4k television with your Switch and it will look exactly the same. Better if you own a PC and it can run natively

No. This is going to be an Oblivion horse armour moment, it's definitely going to sell well and in response video games are slowly going to be priced so ridiculously it's disrespectful to the consumer. It isn't about money to me, I can genuinely afford it quite easily but the principle of the matter is what bothers me. I really do mean it as well, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I disrespected myself like that. I don't like the way the world is going, I'm not a fan of the rising costs -- on everything - despite there being no need other than pure greed. If international finance wants to raise wages to match inflation and improve our quality of life I might change my mind but until then no.

I doubt I'll even bother to emulate the Switch 2 when it inevitably happens. It's the same reason I haven't owned a playstation since the initial PS4 release. Corporate greed that is totally unnecessary. The people making these decisions would sell cigarettes to children if they could get away with it.

I'm a collector of systems and games so I i will be getting one, hopefully get a pre order if not I will get one once the rush and scalpers waves are over.

i'd bought a Switch & game bundle on a whim back in 2018 and played it here and there for maybe a couple years then largely have it just sitting in its dock for the past few. while i have a lot better income nowadays to afford a Switch 2, even at a grating 630 CAD or more, i'd much sooner put that toward finally upgrading my PC when i can work up the drive to replace the whole processor etc. if there's ever some Switch 2 exclusives i'm really itching to play down the line i will simply make an effort to find a friend to borrow from this time.

I have a PS5 for AAA games and I'm not interested in the Nintendo exclusives - didn't love TOTK, still haven't played EOW on my Switch 1, and not into Pokemon or Mario Kart. Eventually I will want one for Duskbloods and probably the next Fire Emblem, but I'm happy to wait for a price drop. Also would love for them to release a Switch 2 Lite because I use my Switch Lite way more than my regular Switch.

I'm just banking my switch 2 pre-order on being able to hack it
i'm not buying a single game unless its needed in order to hack it

Have the best of both worlds. You can emulate Switch on the Steam Deck, and do it better than the Switch and with more options.

I think it's borderline to emulate games from a console that is still sold in stores.

It could be fine if you legally own the games and manually dump them.

And this is exactly what I always meant by naive people believing at any shit Nintendo is telling, because they need to believe it, otherwise it would be a sad world for them...but this way it's a sad world for me lol.

As I have some background in playing videogames, this remembers me when dumb kids were telling PS2 was more powerful than Gamecube, and some of those kids still believe it, but they are not dumb anymore, they are retarded, as they have grown up but their brains have not lol.

I still have the Switch 1 so no…(Although if I had a Switch Lite I would’ve considered getting the Switch 2. Just not worth it atm imo)
