Absolutely not, I embrace all games :p
I coudn't get into Arise either, the story genuinely sucks and doesn't have the oomph to give it the necessary emotion, similar to how you pointed out the lack of great voice acting.I'm kinda sad to admit that I didn't like Tales of Arise, at first I wasn't sure what I could bring to this topic because I had honestly forgotten about it, but I really was sad that I couldn't get into it since it seemed like such a beloved game. I've tried to play through it like 2 times now and I just keep bouncing off of it. The combat isn't very fun, the characters honestly feel bland and the voice acting (for English, that is) feels lacking in emotion.
Yeah me too, I’ve always liked Red Mages, personally. Defending yourself in cqc with a rapier in one hand and attacking long range with spells in the other is just so badass to me. And yeah I’ve never really gotten into SAO (i tried fatal bullet a couple times and bounced off it), but I’ve been working my way through the .Hack series and I’m enjoying it quite a lot.I think I only really liked Rinwell, but i'm very much biased for all mages in these games. I loved that SAO collab fight though.
Nobody's perfect with any game and there were games I didn't beat or beat till years later. Some are more worth it than others, but at least for the older games, you can use save states.I'm ashamed that I'm not better at the original Mario games. I never really knuckled down and mastered them as a kid, now I'm too embarrassed to struggle with them as an adult.
I can play through Donkey Kong and Crash Bandicoot in my sleep, but I never finished a mainline Mario game.
