Arcade games that had no home port but should have

It still surprises me that Ocean Hunter never got a Dreamcast release.

The Dreamcast could play Naomi games and beyond so playing Ocean Hunter (made for the Sega Model 3, the predecessor of Naomi) would be possible. Hell, Fighting Vipers 2 (also made for Model 3) got a Dreamcast port.

Only in Japan though. Not too much of an issue, but definitely frustrating, as it could’ve been a great addition to the console’s lineup in North America, where Virtua Fighter never quite took off.

House of the Dead: Crimson Dawn. I'd have rather had port of that than the remake of 1 or the upcoming remake of 2. I'd didn't even know it existed till i saw it on youtube.

The Castlevaina arcade game. No, the NES or SNES you're thinking of. The FPS one. Could have been ported to the Wii at the time, but no Konami wasn't thinking. I didn't even know this game existed either. Yes, you can play it on PC, but I'd wish I could use a Wii mote, since when you look at the controller the arcade game uses.
Bit late, but you should be able to play it with a Wiimote if you use a Dolpinbar,

Related to that, Mazan - Flash of the Blade is a on rails katana game that really would have been perfect for the Wii or PS Move. Tsurugi is a similar story.

Planet Harriers, and I hate the fact that its arcade boards are on a death watch currently (the only one I had in my town is literally dead...). Sega totally missed the ball with porting that game to, well, anything

I Have a Small List:
Asura Blade: Sword of Dynasty (1998)
Asura Buster: Eternal Warriors (2000)
Blood Bros. (1990)
Cadillacs & Dinosaurs (1993)
Dolphin Blue (2003)
ES - Evolution Soccer (2001)
G.I. Joe (1992)
Metamorphic Force (1993)
Street Fighter EX (Standard) (1996)
Street Fighter EX2 (Standard) (1998)
U.S. Navy ~ Carrier Air Wing (1990)
WWF Superstars (1989)

Fighting games:
– Burning Rival (1993)
– Samurai Shodown 64 (1997)
– Samurai Shodown 64: Warriors Rage (1998)
– Buriki One (1999)
– Soulcalibur III: Arcade Edition (2006)

Racing games:
– Dirt Fox (1989)
– Thrill Drive (1998)
– H2Overdrive (2009)

Platform games:
– Alex Kidd: The Lost Stars (1986) (the original arcade version released before the SMS port)
– SegaSonic the Hedgehog (1993)

Rail shooters:
– Silent Hill: The Arcade (2007)
– House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn (2018)

Most if not all of these are probably running on emulators, but here goes...

Shinobi only has the Master System version, but it's not the best. I wish there was a proper home version of the original arcade game.
It's on the Switch eshop under the Sega Ages label - they've re-coloured the wall crawling Spider-man looking bad guys

I'd also love modern ports of all the House Of The Dead games - uncensored, with original graphics. The remakes are ok, but I like the original art style, graphics, and sound better. CarnEvil would be cool too.
I don't think House of the Dead 4 ever got a home release.
HotD 2 + 3 are on the Wii on the same disc - and 3 + 4 were on PSN - not sure if they're still on there or delisted now

U.S. Navy ~ Carrier Air Wing (1990)
It's on the first Capcom Arcade Stadium on the Switch (eshop) and PS4 (PSN)

It's on the Switch eshop and on PS4 (PSN) - under Hamsters's Arcade Archives label

Capcom's Alien Vs Predator and Cadillacs And Dinosaurs come to mind. I got duped by the inferior SNES AVP game as a kid.
AvP was on Capcom's weird arcade stick/big sign thing aka Capcom Home Arcade

Vendetta and Violent Storm of course.

And that spanish game with the goku inspired character in a edgy cyberpunk universe that feels like a classic genesis game.
Vendetta is on PS4 (PSN) and Switch (eshop) - under Hamsters's Arcade Archives label

Action/Run & Gun :
- Mystic Warriors
Shmup :
- R - Type Leo
- Thunder Cross 1&2
- FixEight
- Varth - Operation Thunderstorm
Varth is on Capcom Arcade Stadium on the Switch (eshop) and PS4 (PSN)
Thundercross 1+2 are on Switch (eshop) and PS4 (PSN) - under Hamsters's Arcade Archives label
Thundercross 1 is also on Switch and PS4 on Konami Arcade Classics Anniversary Collection (Physical release and eshop and PSN)

GunForce II (aaka Geo Storm in Japan aka Metal Slug 0 by Irem and SNK fans)

Made by the team that would, two years later, produce Metal Slug.

I genuinely liked Chaos Break but I do agree, they should've ported it.
It's on Irem Collection Volume 2 on Switch and PS4 (eshop/PSN and physical)

Also Red Earth, a quasi-RPG fighter game from capcom, considering how erll it would fit in a console they qwasted a chance to port it, especially since the game is oscure yet the witch character has appeared in more Capcom Crossovers
It's on Capcom Fighting Collection on Switch and PS4 (eshop/PSN and physical)

Dragon Saber. It's the sequel to Dragon Spirit, which got an NES port that I loved.
Actually this game did get a home port in Japan, apparently. But not in the West.
It's on PS4 (PSN) and Switch (eshop) - under Hamsters's Arcade Archives label

IGS PGM2 stuff, it finally works, but only in latest MAME, which limits devices you can run it on, games like Knights of Valour 3 or Oriental Legend 2.
If you're interested, some of the older games are on IGS Classic Arcade Collection on Switch (eshop and physical) - it's not meant to be that good!

Dead connection is a fun shoot'em up with film noir influences
It's on Switch on Taito Milestones 3 (eshop and physical) - and also on Hamsters's Arcade Archives label for Switch and PS4 (eshop/PSN)
