Anyone know the first ever game they ever downloaded as a ROM for an emulator?

My first emulator was Visual Boy Advanced, and the first ever game that was downloaded and played was Digimon Battle Spirit. I was so excited lol I was amazed I was able to do something as simple as downloading an emulator and playing a game... Then again it was around the time I got my first laptop too.

Good times.

Pokemon Emerald. God, spent 3 hours downloading that through dialup once I googled how to 'play gba on windows xp laptop'.

It should be any of Megaman Legends 1, Brave Fencer Musashi, Digimon World 1 or 2.
Honestly it such a long time ago to even remember

Super mario world used it as a test on my 3ds snes emulator. ::winnie

It was NEStopia and a file of NES roms. It had a zillion versions of every game in it but some were pretty unsavory. I had no choice which games I got with it, it was a pack. A lot of them were racist, homophobic, or just outright offensive and very poorly edited hacks. I just wanted Super Mario Bros. lol. I didn't know what all the little letters, numbers, and symbols meant when it came to different versions. I just picked one and hoped for the best.

For me it was Super Mario RPG.

I was watching a video by Blaine Lockhart regarding how to jailbreak a PS VITA. When I was younger, I wanted to do jailbreaking with other electronics, but I never had much time or think that I was technologically competent to do so. Now fast forward almost just a few years ago, I learned how to do it and in the process learn how to get one of the Nintendo 64 emulators working on there.

Just curious if anyone remembers is all.
I think it was Pepsiman or Crash Bandicoot. In my days I used to watch alot of youtubers in my language and when they talk about nostalgia and old games they mentioned these games alot and I've always been interested in trying them and I remember my first emulator was actually some kind of modified APK of EPSXE from some iranian site that could only play Pepsiman and later I figured out how to actually download the emulator and install games and I had alot of fun. I remember my main site was freeroms and I think coolroms

My best guess is Final Fantasy 5 on the Super Famicom, probably with ZSNES. I remember the font not working the first time I tried to play it, too.
I hear that as being a common one. The intrigue about missing an entry in a beloved series has always been a guiding light for emulation.

I feel like it was either the pokemon games, or the first Kirby gba game.

Back in 2001, after being introduced to emulation via a CD with about 20 SNES roms, I decided to download a NES emulator alongside Maniac Mansion and Super Mario Bros 2.
I specifically went for those two games thanks to my familiarity of the PC version of Maniac Mansion, the recent release of the GBA with Mario Advance as a launch title, and a desire to compare the differences between versions.

Oh that's easy: Shining Force 2. And I never looked back since~

I remember the emulators at the time being ridiculously edgy, like it had a bloody hand mouse cursor on it. Can't remember what emulator it was though.

Sounds like NESticle.
