Anyone know the first ever game they ever downloaded as a ROM for an emulator?

It was Pokemon Stadium 2. I had the first game but really wanted to play 2 and even though retro games weren't expensive like they are today it was still out of reach for me as a kid (and I never saw it for sale anyway). Wanting to play that game is actually how I discovered emulators.
Pokemon Stadium is a pretty good game

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island pre installed off of GameFabrique. Do not use that website. Virus laden to this day. That was back in 2006 when I was a young kid, like 5 years old. It came with ZSNES.
Every once in a while when I just don't care for accuracy I still load ZSNES up every so often because it's such a nostalgic thing for me. Love the snowfall background.

Pokemon Red and Blue. I put them on floppy disks with matching colors + the emulator. My brother told me I could go to jail for having them and I got scared and destroyed the disks ?

Yes, it was Pokemon Crystal.
Same. Mine was Pokemon Crystal and Pokemon Red / Blue to play on my pc. I also managed to run it on the old sony ericsson and nokia w595 and symbian OS back then in 2010-2011 i dont even remember how haha. what times

Mine was Mega Man Battle Network which I got from a website called Doperoms which I used to use a lot in middle school. The Internet areas from the first Battle Network game as well as the music for it are a bit nostalgic for me even though they are my least favorite to maneuver in the series

the very first for me was megaman zero a hacked ver with blood (venom or something like that)

First rom I tried that wasn't a romhack was Sonic 2 through Kega Fusion. Around 2015.

First romhack was Amy in Sonic 3. I remember asking someone how to play it and then I found Kega Fusion.

I moved around to building more & more a romset of every console. But it all started with me loving the Sega Genesis Sonic games mainly. And also Mario.

Pokemon Red as I had Blue on my original GameBoy and wanted to see what Red was like but with being 12 at the time I didn't have money to buy a legit copy. I remember feeling really guilty as the warning stated it was illegal for me to download it if I didn't own my own copy haha. For about a fortnight afterwards I thought I was gonna get arrested or something!! ::lol

Early 2000s, Chrono Trigger. ZNES, I believe was the emulator I used at the time. I remember getting so mad because all I used was save states and hit the Point of no Return with Lavos and was nowhere near ready to face him. I wouldn't play the game again for like 19 years. Yes I was that salty about it

I was about 8 in 2003 (I may have been 9 in 2004 instead) and my neighbours were sick of me coming over to bug them all the time because I just required endless attention and they were very nice to me. So the two youngest brothers came over and copied over a flash drive of either VBA or no$GBA, and about 7 or 8 GBA games. I had no idea this was even possible, and it blew my fucking world up. Of those games, I remember Pokemon Sapphire, Legacy of Goku II and Digimon Battle Spirit most clearly - though I probably racked up over 500 hours in Sapphire alone before we moved house, as it kickstarted my Pokemon obsession for the next two decades. Only in the last 18 months have I finally chilled out and not played any of the games much at all.

Mario Kart DS. its my favourite Mario Kart game, and i genuinely like the game in general. 7 added the stunt mechanic, as well as more detailed Kart customization but i was fine with the way DS was. its simpler, no stunts no customizations.

I distinctly remember discovering ZSNES and first loading up Final Fantasy III (VI if you don't appreciate Woolsey) and just staring at Narshe in Purple Snow instead of actually playing.

I think the most I ever got out of ZSNES was reaching Magus's Castle in Chrono Trigger.

Pokemon Yellow. I had never finished that game as a kid and I was still knee deep into my Pokemon phase. I saw as the 1 pokemon game that I could not beat, so I managed to download a rom of it on my android and a GBC emulator to play it. Did I finish it? No. I was too used to gens 4 and 5 and their QoL changes that I gave up after getting 7 badges. I would finish Yellow about 10 years later and I have to admit it is a good game if archaic. Just needed to treat it like a classic RPG rather than a pokemon game.
