Anyone got tips on PS1 Backups?

I've been using original hardware to play my ps1 games for a while, some games like translations I got no choice but to use Burned discs. I've done them for quite a bit throughout the years but a lot of times they are just never quite right. Skipping during cutscenes or the discs don't always load reliably. Anyone got any tips for brand of discs to use, best burning method, best software to burn ps1 games etc.

Use toothpaste on the disc /j

apparently low burn speed like 2x or 4x
but most modern CD-R drives have a minimum write speed of like 10x
which is not ideal

You need a hitachi disc burner and reliable cds like verbatim
