Man I only discovered this series like a year ago, but it hooked me instantly.

I wanted something like Gears of War after I finished its trilogy and so looked online for other cover shooters and Army of Two looked unique gameplay wise.

The main things I liked about the first game is that you have to control and give commands to the partner AI otherwise you're screwed, playing in co-op with my friend felt smooth and fun and the humor fit the characters and made them more likable.

The only thing I didn't like or at least found strange about the first game were the CG cutscenes which didn't age as good.

Then I played The 40th day and man this game is awesome, it took almost everything about the first game and made it 10x better.

You could switch which side of your screen you wanted your character to be at so peaking corners wasn't a pain anymore, the story while being more serious still retained a lot of its charm, the graphics looked dazzling and the aesthetic the game was going for was nailed superbly, also the gun customization was INSANE.

I also loved the choices in the game and the visuals they came with, but I felt that they didn't impact the story enough until the final decision at the end of the game. (I saved Salem BTW)

The things I didn't like about the game are REALLY limited and those being the already mentioned choices not being impactful enough, there is also the fact that you can stick to walls now which kinda bums me out because I loved that you could move freely behind cover in the first game, which you still can do, I just think the wall magnetism is redundant.

Now I have not played the third game but it being made in frostbite+new developers+the things I have heard and seen about the game make me not want to play it at all.

I deeply hope that EA some day makes a fourth game that also retconns the third game, but that's probably never gonna happen lol.

I just remember the commercial with a ::fire cover by mastodon of "one" >_<
Even recently people ask if mastodon recorded a full version of the cover, but (as far as I know) it was just for that snippet. I guess that is all EA payed for :loldog

EA being cheapskates is always funny LOLOLOLOLOL

I played the one on psp, I really enjoyed it but I remember sometimes it was a little frustrating to change character or to cure the fallen one (I can't clearly remember the precise mechanic now, but overall I liked the game!).

I play it from time to time on RPCS 3. the the rest of the games i did not like so much, especially the pseudo Mexican cartel plot from 3 where you do not even handle Rios or Salem and 40th days i might have to replay it i might like it this time.

I remember them. First two games are great, but It failed in disgrace with the devil's cartel. ::sadkirby

It also is a little odd the video is age restricted by their choice (it says by uploader), yet it comes from EA's official youtube page and I'm pretty sure it aired on TV when I was a kid... So I dunno what is going on with them >_< But I guess they are known for their bizarre decisions and management :loldog

I think you should try the 360/PS3 games, they are so much better than the PSP game (except Devil's Cartel, fuck that game)
