Anyone currently reading comics?

This thread did inspire me to read some comics, so I decided on the My Little Pony & Transformers crossover from IDW comics!
It was an 8 issue miniseries, released in two parts back in 2020 & 2021.

Part 1: "Friendship in Disguise" sees the Autobots being sent to Equestria via teleportation magic and teaming up with the MLP cast to fight the Decepticons, who had partnered with the MLP villain; Queen Chrysalis.

Part 2: "The Magic of Cybertron" was the inverse. Set after part 1, the MLP cast visit Cybertron in the hopes of stopping the MLP villain King Sombra from taking over with his mind control magic.

Not the most complex of stories, but it is fun. It's fun to see the interactions between the different franchises, as well as the few meta jokes that the writers throw in now and then (The literal 2nd panel of the first issue makes fun of people taking continuity too seriously with these kinds of throwaway crossovers)

Plus, the art is just really cool to look at!::heart
I missed this
Yeah it’s a great way of getting into comics

I'm currently reading the third volume of the Max Allan Collins/Rick Fletcher Dick Tracy, it's a more than worthy sucessor to Chester Gould. I only regret the death of Moon Maid, that was unnecesary but i understand that at the time there was a need to delete the sci-fi elements of the strip. I hope to find the second volume someday, it's the only one i don't have:

Besides that, i keep reading some comics in digital, like Batman & Robin Year One, Batman: Dark Patterns, the new Terminator comics from IDW and the much underrated Sleep by Zander Cannon, a psychological story about an individual who transforms into a creature who kills people. With a limited color palette of black, white, grey and reds and a potent narrative, it's something one can't miss:

Have you read the Mad Cave Dick Tracy books at all? Hear they're pretty good

I have a couple of classic Dick Tracy strips in spanish sorted in different anthologies, and a single volume of a collection dedicated entirely to him, who includes the last Gould story: The Governor, an absolute classic. Here's a couple of Tracy-related videos, well worth the watch:

I´m reading The Swamp Thing Moore´s era book three. Amazing. One of my favorites.

Also could find a book of a really good old school noir comic: Cordoba Blues by Peiro(a great local artist here in Argentina).

Aguante Peiró! Vi ese libro en el Parque Rivadavia y no lo llevé, tengo otro que salió en la colección de la revista Fierro:

El de Swamp Thing lo estás leyendo en la edición de Ovni?

Not a comic book per se, but I've been reading through "Art is Magic", an art book for the IDW My Little Pony comics.

It is largely a compilation of production sketches and finished artworks, but also features some interesting interviews with the various artists that worked on the series. The best art books to me are always the ones that feature creator commentary and insight, as opposed to ones that solely feature artwork.

Trying to come back to comics. The current ones I'm trying to read is Absolute Batman and the Skybound Transformers run. I have the Hellboy graphic novels on my backlog but if I itch for more Absolute universe stuff I'm gonna spread out to Absolute Martian Manhunter and Wonder Woman.

Lmao and his best friend is probably name Paul. As the now webbing suggests he is poorer than usual as he looks like he had to sell his extra limbs for the costume.

On a serious note though the new Ultimate universe comics look good but I'm gonna wait on how it ends before I decide if I would read it.

Dude, why'd you dox what I look like? Now I'm going to have to run you down with the Absolute Spider-Mobile, which is just a literal tank.
I believe we have an artist's rendering of such an incident:

I doxxed you out of admiration, you are my last surviving comic book friend, after all. RIP to the legends (including Daddy who i should include here)

Besides, this wasn’t a recent pic of you, but rather your emo awkward teenage phase where you never stopped shouting “I HATE CALAMARI! ITS THE WORST PIZZA TOPPING!”. True story.

Y-yeah, that's my teenage emo phase look that I'm not still wearing. For sure. Grew out of it. Just for Eric, I'm going to try calamari pizza.

Been mainly reading Marvel's R&S comic and Silver Age Adam Strange. Also planning what to get myself for my birthday (probably the Requiem Vampire Knight omni, Mike Grell's The Warlord omni, and the first Sandman Mystery Theater Compendium). Been flip-flopping on the JSA Compendium, really like the series, but going back and reading it, it didn't leave me with a whole lot of interest in continuing it (which tbh, makes my heart weap a little)
