Any SHMUP recommendations to play

Harmful Park is a really fun cute 'em up.

it's got a colourful theme and a bunch of different weapons to use that keeps the variety up there. I've even had none-shmup players get into it before now.

Looking something easy and fun to play looks good.
I don't think there is an "easy shmup" per se but rereleases from M2. Shot Triggers (ESP Ra. De. Psi, Dodonpachi Daioujou) and mordern releases for Steam (Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu, Gunbird series) have novice/easy/super easy modes or difficult sliders.

They don't become dumb down versions but more forgiving with more manageable patters while keeping the challenge. They also have more options for how many lifes and continues you can use.

I'm a sloppy shmup player but I managed to beat some of them on easier difficulties and this helped me to get better.

Tyrian 2000 is legendary, you can even play it on a phone with OpenTyrian

To add to this, tyrian 2000 is one of the easiest shmups there is, but it's also so fun that it becomes more than just a shmup.

If you like dodge mechanics, ikaruga might be up your alley, i wouldn't call it easy (it's a bullet hell) but you can effectively dodge everything by using the shield system properly.

How hard is Ikaruga anyway? I've always heard it is a very complex game with a steep learning curve so it always kept me from playing

I'd say it's one of the easier games in the bullet hell genre because you can block literally everything.
A true bullet hell like mushihimesama is MUCH harder because your only real chance of getting good at that is learning patterns and taking advantage of hitbox dodging, especially on the hardest difficulties.

Forgot to mention these, but pretty much any game in the thunder force series is also pretty easy in comparison to other games in the genre, though 6 is probably by far the easiest.
All of them have good music, but 4 is pretty legendary for it's music.
