This is a little experiment of mine to see about maybe getting Amiga on the Repo. This is a full preconfigured install of Workbench along with the WHDLoad based game launcher iGame with over 150 games. Here's a guide on how to get this working like in the screenshots:
  1. Extract the archive to wherever you want (Program Files may be best since the emulator is already set up for being in that folder)
  2. Launch winuae64.exe (in admin is best) and in the Paths settings set them to where those places are now on your PC
  3. Click to Rescan ROMs
  4. In Configurations load the A4000 Turbo preset and then before starting make sure you have the sound, display, and filter settings how you like
  5. Configure your keyboard and other input options in the Input and Game ports settings (they can be a little tricky so experiment with them)
  6. Double click the A4000 Turbo preset in Configurations to start or just click start after you're sure the preset has been loaded. You can open WinUAE again by pressing F12
  7. When it starts you should be at the desktop with no programs open. You can have fun and experiment with the desktop environment and pre-installed applications (there's a lot) if you like
  8. To play a game open the iGame launcher by revealing the shortcut for it at the top by right clicking and then just pick a game and press enter or click on it a few times
  9. Most all games will glitch out unless Cycle-exact (Full) is checked in the Chipset settings so be sure to check that once a game has started playing
  10. To exit a game the button is usually F10 but some games are set to the * key
  11. Be sure to look at the screenshots and read the captions for them as I've included important info in some of them
Games in WHDLoad format and games in all kinds of formats for Amiga and Amiga CD32, CDTV, and CD-ROM games can be found at the Turran FTP server Most of the games I got for this post are found from within these folders (download them, extract the lha archive, and move the files to the folders read by iGame like in the screenshots) The games included are all the ones that appealed to me when looking through the huge library of games on Turran (one interesting one is Black Dawn Rebirth, it's a newer indie one)

Software for Amiga can be found at aminet but be mindful of the software requirements and dependencies.

I'll see if I can get Spike or whoever to add a PC section for Amiga so that I can add Amiga CD-ROM titles like Genetic Species, Payback, OnEscapee, and Wasted Dreams (to name a few) also CD32 games too.

This post is not for the faint of heart or the impatient, but I encourage anyone curious in the Amiga system to check this out and have fun with it. You should be sure to do a lot of research on both using WinUAE and stuff about Amiga. It took me around a month to set this up for myself as a personal project and now I'm sharing it with you guys. I'll probably go back and tweak this post to add or review relevant info but I'm happy with it at the moment.

Most of the games don't seem to show in the Games folder in work bench.
They don't appear because each folder has to have a corresponding .info file and they don't. You can see them if you use Directory Opus (DOPUS) But anyway you're not supposed to load them from that. You can load them from the iGame launcher. It'll show a list of all the games I have files for along with screenshots on some of them. (but not all since I had to manually create and edit each screenshot and then convert them to the image format iGame uses and I got lazy instead of giving all of them screenshots)

Actually, entire letter folders don't appear.

Did you make sure the hard drive mounts were recognized like in the screenshot? Also, the screen in the Workbench is setup for 1920x1080p so I'm not sure if it will glitch and not work on lower screen resolutions but it should just glitch a bit until you go and change it to how yours is using the display mode preferences that are in that one screenshots. If you make sure all the folder paths and files are loaded right then it should work
It was that! it took some time to load but it's 100% working now haha thanks!

I'd think the default config would point to ".\" or local directory for where the program is, thus you can extract and just use rather than installing and you can prepare it to be ready to use (like i enjoy making my DosBox templates).

And peeking at the CD32, it is... except not quite pointing to all the inner paths. I do hope it doesn't want fixed/hard paths.

config_all_path=
win32.rom_path=./
win32.floppy_path=./
win32.hardfile_path=./
; host-specific

Some roms point correctly to ./roms while others c:\Program Files.
(forward slash used in unix systems, backslash for windows systems...)

When i boot workench it stay as a gray screen :( Does any one know what i am doing wrong?

I love the Amiga so much, even from just the last couple months in which I've messed around with emulating it. Hopefully this release will get more console gamers to stop ignoring the Amiga and its games.

Awesome, I already use Amikit X but I haven't bothered adding software to it. This will be good to check out games.

awesome! i had issues setting this up on my own, thanks for doing this!

Most of the games in this are RPG games since I'm big into that genre. In fact the game Fate - Gates of Dawn is included and it's possibly the longest main campaign of any RPG ever. It takes upwards to and over 400 hours to complete. Just trying to explore the game world to see every screen takes weeks without pause. So technically it might be the longest RPG that doesn't have more content given to it from expansions. Some games are longer due to expansion DLC but this game is the longest main campaign of any RPG that exists as far as what I've been able to research. Needless to say not many people actually finish it lol

I fixed the description to mention the thing about the hard drive stuff used by Workbench. Now I just gotta see about having an Amiga sub section added to the PC section so I can upload CD32 and Amiga CD games (I know CD32 was a console but I'm gonna treat it as with the other Amiga PC stuff)

It's like you guys are reading my mind. I just learned of this program because I wanted to try some Amiga games and here it is!

Hey is it possible to add the entire library? Just wondering, unsure if this is it or if there is more out there
Getting the entire Amiga software library would be borderline insane since there's just so much content. Instead you should look on that Turran server and use someplace like Lemon Amiga to learn about and find Amiga games (they're basically the Mobygames for Amiga) You can find entire romsets for Amiga CD32/TV and Amiga CD-ROM (CD games that run on Amiga computer models instead of the CD32 console) on places like archive.org and Myrient. Since those have way less games than floppy disk games, but for floppy disk games there's tens of thousands. People still make games for Amiga and have never stopped since it has a huge community of dedicated users.

I was talking with Rage Burner on Discord and was able to walk him through getting the files in this post to work like how I described. He knew absolutely nothing about Amiga or WinUAE but we got it working fine. So it seems like everything checks out

It's interesting emulating the entire Amiga workbench like this but anybody who just wants to dive in could throw the bios files in the appropriate folder and fire up the whdload files through retroarch.

Awesome man, used to play Amiga in the early 90s. will defiantly give this an go. Cheers Dude.

As long as nobody goes around giving the link to this page to everybody they see then it should be fine. Repo links can't be found in search engine results and nobody can access the repo without first creating an account. It's unlikely that anyone from the copyright holders will see this. They wouldn't even know it was on here without creating an account and then searching for it on it

I missed a step. I forgot to tell about mounting the hard drives for Workbench. The Hard Disk, the System virtual harddisk image thing, and the PC folder are all things that need to be mounted in the CD & Hard Drives settings

Sit tight guys I'll fix the guide in my post and provide a few extra screenshots relating to the hard drive files that Workbench reads from tomorrow. They're all there in the download and you might be able to figure it out yourself but that's a crucial step I missed. I shouldn't have posted it so late. I was feeling like a madlad at the moment lol
Holy W I was actually just getting into Amiga shiz W curator

1. I would be careful, the copyright holders of Amiga (mainly the machine roms) will probably take legal action.
2. The best way to introduce new people to Amiga, is probably through Amiga-Vision: https://amiga.vision/

Nice. I always download and add collections like this to my archive. I have several Commodore Amiga computers in various states of operation.
