Alright, get it off of your chest! What game is nowhere near as bad as its reputation?

You know what MMB has that I will forever love? Ground Man. Dashing/Sliding to dodge that giant drill makes you feel so cool. 😎 Probably my favorite earth/rock themed boss in the classic series.
Also it haves great music

Double Dragon Revive is a fun 7/10 game, and is nowhere near the bad quality of DDII XBLA Remake. Also, I find it better and more replayable than Neon. There is not dumb grinding for mythral to level up your powers, Making Revive even more arcade faithful than Neon.

Killer Is Dead is Grasshopper's best game when it comes to combat and straight forward level design.
I never knew anyone that hated Double Dragon on SMS
I never hated it, but it is lacking in hit detection consistency even more than arcade game or NES port. It felt rushed.
Doom 3 is widely hated within the Doom community, but I’ve always found it to be a very interesting and unique game amongst the rest of the series. I really like the horror atmosphere of that game; I don’t think it’s as good as Doom 1, 2, 64, DOOM 2016, or DOOM Eternal, but I do like it a lot.
Doom 3 pretty much stopped being hated by most of the community by the BFG re-release, and because of constant flux of military shooters. I always saw Doom 3 as okay, but the Resurrection Of Evil expansion is better, and Doom 64 is the true Doom 3 any way, and was already the better sequel. Speaking of which, D64 did get hate or mediocre reception back in the day. My brother and I played the shit out of it back then. It was great playing it again on PS4 with all of the improved QOL features.

Some people hate Shadow Warrior 3 for being "too short", but the game is 10-12 hours on a first run, and for $49.99, that is not bad. It got updates later on to improve gameplay features and NG+. The previous two games suffer from a lot of padding. Especially Shadow Warriors 2.

Resident Evil 5 - Granted, it was the best selling game in the franchise before Resident Evil 2 Remake about two years ago. Though the people who exaggerates this game's problems are a loud vocal minority or are part of Yahtzee's punk ass, dumb ass, echo chambers with the most flippant opinions.

The game has its problems, but partner AI is nowhere near the problem some people make it out to be, regardless if it is Sheva or Chris. While still dislike the fact you can't move and shoot at the same time, I find the pacing of RE5 better than RE4. Sheva is a much better partner character, and bounces off Chris much better than OG Ashley on OG Leon. There are better and much more useful action commands, team up attacks that do double damage. and you can even insta-kill with certain ones based on how the enemy is positioned or stunned. If you're playing the 8th gen ports of 5, you get all of the DLC packed in for free and unlockable by playing the game. Also, you can adjust cut-scene QTEs to one button now. Making them much less of a chore, and easier to get through the game.

RE3 Remake gets shit on for cutting out parts of the OG, I’m a die hard RE fan and love the remake. I don’t care that they cut stuff out, I still enjoyed it.

Mega Man X7
RE 3 Remake
Sonic Forces

All fun, playable games. People generally just hate them because there were expecting something other than what the games ended up being. That doesn't inherently make a game bad, but many people can't grasp that concept.

THIS!

It's actually a very good game. I think the difficulty is what turned people off.
That, and people weren't really expecting a sidescroller as the only sequel to an instant classic that had played completely different — I can see how fans might have felt blindsided by Nintendo there.

It was certainly a bold choice on their part.

I'll never understand the hate that the NES Lolo games get. I loved them as a kid, and sure some puzzles were very difficult, but I manged to beat the first one, but got stuck a little over halfway through Lolo 2.

I agree with Zelda 2 being a great game, the only bad part is the enemies that appear off screen and hit you as soon as you land a difficult jump only fall backwards into a pit.

splatterhouse (2010) - the vast majority of critics didn't like it , and i was pretty annoyed that much of the footage in the trailers wasn't really in the final game , the game was taken away from the original development team and later finished with some of the game cut down from what it should have been , but it was still an enjoyable time (in a mindless brawler sort of way) with the 3 previous games included as unlockables.

In no particular order: Floating Runner, Guilty Gear Isuka, The Combatribes, and Bravoman.

Never understood why people seem to dislike Resident Evil 6. It was pretty good!

Maybe it has to do with different expectations they have after playing the older RE games.
i never played it but i believe it wasn't popular because it was more focused on action then horror

Several reasons for the huge dislike of Resident Evil 6:

  • The confusing tone and botched tones.
  • The lack of returning characters like Claire and Jill, even though Sherry is back. It was a missed opportunity to have all of these characters/Raccoon City survivors meet up again in game.
  • Trying to please "everyone", but especially the Call of Duty/Gears of War crowd.
  • The over abundance of QTEs and action commands.
  • The none of the games mechanics are explained well and is a death trap for any first time player or those who don't look up a guide or YouTube.
  • The game drags on for way too long and wears out its welcome before you even get to Chris's or Sherry's campaign. Assuming you started with Leon first.
  • Ada's campaign being the most boring.
  • Jake Wesker teased for the next game, only to never show up again. Though I am not personally complaining about that one. You can see why he would not work though.
Or see this video at the beginning before Ray starts talking about RE5.

As I always say, Resident Evil 6 is far from being as bad as everyone says. It's a good and entertained shooter that is stupidly exaggerated and campy as RE has always been since the first game. I do agree there were too many quick time events, but apart from that, it's just more Resident Evil, but taken to the next level.
Agreed. The core gameplay does everything the previous 3rd person shooter RE games did, but better: Movement is smoother and nowhere as restrictive as 4 and 5, counter attacks and finishers are snappy and fun to pull off, visually amazing for the console generation, and all the little quirks of the enhanced combat systems allow for some impressive hidden techniques that make you all the more dangerous (animation cancelling for quick reloads/fast firing with slow weapons, etc).
