As you might know, this title contains SRW 2, 3 and EX previously released on snes, but with improved graphics and voice acting during battles.

All three have been translated into english by the famous group AGTP.
What I wonder is if some brainiac here, passionate about this series, is willing to port the texts/menus already translated for snes to the improved versions of the psx.

I'm surprised that no one has ever started a similar project in all these years.
Has anyone already taken a look at the structure of this iso? Is it possible to insert the texts/menus as they are, without changes, into the corresponding titles for psx? Do we need a special tool? Is it a job that even a beginner can do, or do we need to have some technical knowledge?
Is anyone else interested in these games?
Thanks for your attention.

As nice as that would be, I feel it is unlikely. These games require an immense amount of knowledge and dedication to see through, and even some of those that are "done" have show stopping bugs.

The only thing I know about this series is that I played SRW OG Saga: Endless Frontier for Nintendo DS that came loaded on my R4 cart and that game felt like a total fever dream. I liked it but I was like "wtf is this game?!" the whole time.

Hmm... Why can't I edit my opening post? Why this unpleasant news?
I just wanted to specify that SRW2 was not originally on snes but on nes, still fully translated into english. For the sake of truth. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Apart from the title, it has nothing to do with the SRW series. These are tactical-rpg games (like Shining Force, Langrisser, Fire Emblem, Arc the Lad etc.), that one is a jrpg game, a pretty mediocre one at that.

again lets face it okay i know everyone want to play srw game on English but the super problem it not going to happen because at this point it super hard to translated these game series because the script so long it is very hard to do it so we have no choice to play it on japanese until someone with immense amount of knowledge and dedication to do any super robot wars game so yay this why it is very niche

Did you read carefully what I wrote in the opening post? SRW2, SRW3 and SRW-EX have already been translated into english by AGTP in the NES and SNES versions. I asked if it would be possible to port the existing translations into the 3 improved PSX version of those games. Did I make myself clear? There is nothing to translate from scratch, here.

here is the thing it not the same scripts as classic era of srw because it is a total different game and different scripts

Hi Karnik,
Thanks for making this thread.
Good news, most of the script for Complete Box, and other Super Robot games, is available here:
https://mr-blade.sakura.ne.jp/srw_CB.html

It is easily translated with Google Translate or other programs, and will get you to almost 100% understanding. The remaining bits can be ironed out or understood by context. These classic games don't have too complicated stories.

Patches are things of the past. They are complicated to make, and require a lot of effort.

Instead, look at this, which is a suitable option:
This is a program that is being made for translating Tokimeki Memorial, but could work for any other game.

What does it do? It reads the screen, and once it recognises text, it gives you English words live. No need to hack, you only need to give the program the words to recognize.

There is no longer a need to create complicated patches. If you can get the script to the program, and it recognises the in-game text, you have an instant translation that's quite playable.
The same goes for any other SRWs.

I don't have the knowhow, but if anyone out there wants to give it a try, this is a very possible start and quick way to get the game in English.
You could start by contacting the author of the tool via the GitHub page, and asking what to do to get the tool running for other games.

Hope this helps.

I see. Thanks for the suggestion. I was already aware of a similar method, used to quickly translate "on the fly" certain visual novels on PC.
Sure, it's a possible solution, if one wanted to play a certain title at all costs and there were no other accessible solutions. But personally I play psx games on real hardware, on my hacked ps1 or on the psp, where obviously this method is unusable. If those were only available on pc or tablet, I would lose all interest in playing them: I just don't get along with this.
Nah, my hope is that some group will find the interest in porting existing english texts from snes to psx. I repeat, apart from the improved graphics, the dialogues (where and when they occur during gameplay) are the same. If someone takes this to heart and will start this project, I'll be more then happy, otherwise who cares... 🤷🏻‍♂️

The Japanese transcripts are fantastic!!!
Thank you.
I actually wanna revise my Japanese and these will be part of my references to get more out of my revision.
Using other games like Estpolis, Ranma, Breath of Fire etc etc too.

Ocarina, I was meaning to ask, for those games with Chinese translations (Complete Box, 4, 64, Z2, Impact, Panzer Warfare, UX, BX) do you happen to know of download links for just the patches? In order to understand or study?

Hi, no I don't. Sorry.

They are always all pre-patched in all these China Chinese websites.
