Hi there. I'm Arle. I'm a 25 year old pixel artist and college student. Been doing pixel art since just before the end of high school back in 2019 (also was the year I got to go to E3!... the last E3... oops I killed it, sorry fellas.). I made an account back at the beginning of January of 2025, but never got around to actually talking on the forums until today. Forums were just out of vogue by the time I got around to using the internet (outside of niche things or equivalents), so I never really got to use them, just decided it might be better to start now.
Been a fan of retro games or retro-styled titles for a long time. I grew up mainly with Nintendo's handhelds (DS and onward), and pixel art and the many styles of it drew my attention the most. I also grew up pretty poor, so I didn't get to play a lot of games on them when I did. I played a lot of games though through... other means. My love for retro games and gaming in general mainly came from that. My memory is unfortunately very bad, so a truly accurate list of my favorite games is hard to say. However some titles I can say with full authority are some of my favorites are Blaster Master (mainly the Zero titles but I do like the original NES game and the book was a fun kid read.), the Mother series (M3 then M1 then M2), Undertale/Deltarune, Final Fantasy (6 is my overall favorite, OG 7 my least favorite of the ones I have played. Hasn't aged well, hell I think most of the PS1 FF games haven't aged well.), Silent Hill (2 is my favorite. Daring today aren't we.), Resident Evil (I love arcadey games), Puyo Puyo/Madou Monogatari (I love dungeon crawlers, and also fun puzzle games), and Mario & Luigi (BIS is my favorite overall, with SS and DT being close behind.). I also have been getting into rhythm games, but with where I live, its hard to do unless it has a home release... thats affordable.
Outside of retro games and pixel art, I like listening to a lot of chiptune and electronics music with some progrock there too. I do try to read books from time to time. I like mangas and comics (Usagi Yojimbo is my favorite comic series.), and I tend to read them more often. My time mainly gets taken by college, art, and games however, lol.
Hope this introduction wasn't too long and I hope everyone is having a nice day/night!
