A video game you want to smell

Guilty Gear Strive of course! the Smell of the Game must be so darn good even Naoki sings and rock out to it! The OST is. ::fire ::fire ::fire

Hmm... Animal Crossing, Cavern of Dreams (I feel like that whole game would smell like cinnamon and snickerdoodle cookies) most Mario games and Treasure Tech World actually have things that would smell pleasant in them I think, but most games I play I would rather not. I've smelt enough disgusting things that I get flashbacks to cleaning out biohazard-ridden apartments* every time I play RE7. I already know what that game would smell like in a most visceral sense.

*One of which quite literally had an ankle deep layer of cat shit and detritus on the floor along with black mold in bathroom and kitchen, I literally had to wear a respirator to clean that shit out. It was that bad. Pretty sure the people up there had pre-natal toxoplasmosis or something, because they had dozens of cats and were crazy AF, so they basically might have had the closest thing you could catch to T-Abyss.
I'd be curious to see what Silent Hill smells like. I'm thinking of the fog world in particular. Is there some unsettling element in Harry's experience to which the player is completely incognizant?
Gross, and also I think the fog in Silent Hill smells like a mix of burnt metal, Salvia Divornum (or whatever scent PTV had to it ;) ), meth, and industrial cleaning solvents. It would certainly clear your sinuses- and I wouldn't be surprised if inhaling the fog actively lowers characters inhibitions so they keep going deeper into the spooky, fogbound abandoned town where there is clearly some fucked up shit going on.

Rouge Galaxy for me. It would be a HUGE combination of things.

The smell of a hot desert and sandy oasis. Grog, alcoholic drinks that a pirate would drink like crazy. The fresh yet artificial tech city full of aliens and robots. The humid hot forest rich land. Wet, cool rock of ancient tombs hidden away. Even the far off beach in lands filled by humanoid fish people. Then the dark, night life city full of danger and other things.

You probably just want to go smell El Gigante

Streets of Rage. All of them will have different variations of techno and house/dance bars.

I wouldn't mind the smell of Ikaruga or Raiden (SHMUP franchise) either.

Street Fighter and Bloody Roar as well, but for specific characters.

No More Heroes smells like otakus having free pizza at a cheap anime convention.

Ok its so funny that some of the first posts for this are about RE4. Because I specifically remember thinking this room would kinda smell nice in RE4 classic. Like old carpet, dust, incense smoke, and still water. Yet it wouldn't be stuffy, since its a huge stone and marble room. So it would have a coldness to it almost like a basement? Idk how to explain.

For the Silent Hill fog in particular I feel like that's the one thing in SH that wouldn't smell bad actually. Ever breathe in a thick fog irl? I'd just imagine it to be like that, cold, wet. Kind of humid, where you would feel the fog on your face. Almost like rain.

Once in downtown Detroit but thankfully it was when the conventions were starting to have more ladies there in the late 2000s. Smelled like peaches and citrus inside.
WHAT!!! There were chicks there!!! Now you let out the girl's secret
and the creepers know...

Yeah, I have smelt fog before. I was born in Southern Oregon, and even were I currently live will occasionally get thick fog rolling in off the lake. I actually specified "Silent Hill 2 especially" , but edited it out. In the first game, I don't actually think the fog smelt abnormal. I think canonically it's supposed to be snowing, not raining ash in the first game (that was actually one of the things from the first movie I did really like). Although in the second one, there is no precipitation in the fog, and I've always got the feeling that the fog was more eldritch smog than it was water vapor. With a chemical scent to it, like the antiseptic smell of a hospital room that just got cleaned out mixed with the smell of a machine shop and the smell of the worst drugs. I do think the Otherworld has a distinct smell to it in the first game, though- I think that place smells of sulphur and rotting meat with a slight tang of oxidizing metal.

The ladies change it up every few years to throw them off. Besides, Detroit and Michigan ladies are tougher than that. Those keys who get the beating of their life. A lead pipe or curb stormping or two should put them in their place.

Kagura and Saaya (Oneechanbara Z Kagura) probably smell like blood.
