Still going strong on emulation and still finding games that have been translated or not released outside of Japan. Incredible console, many great memories back in the day.

Favorite PS2 memories? I have a million of em! I remember one of my exes had Silent Hill 4: The Room and she was too scared to play it, but wanted to watch it. So, I beat that damn game after a few late nights. I would have never had the resolve to beat it without an audience lmao. It gets pretty frustrating by the end. I'd play it until like two or three in the morning and then I'd walk home kinda freaked out and on edge. The gameplay got exhausting by the back half of the game, but it did creep me out and had a ton of cool moments.

I also got an EyeToy and that thing was a piece of shit hahahaha. But I remember being PUMPED. Some of the Tony Hawk games would let you use it to take a grainy picture of yourself to plaster your face on your created character. Looked terrible and hilarious.

i remember getting it for my birthday, with the motor storm arctic edge disc included. me and my dad used to race against each other all the time. later on one of my cousins who played a lot more videogames than me showed me how to play sands of time, shit blew my mind. stories and characters?? in a videogame??
best console hands down, amazing library

always been a playstation boy growing aside from the gameboys (normal, light and advance) we had as kids

all-time faves on ps2:
Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando
Radiata Stories
Disgaea 1 and 2
Guitar Hero games
Ar tonelico 1 and 2

im ashamed to say i didnt play more which are considered classics now, but well, as a kid living with shit net, i didn't know better

PS2 games were how I learned english, one word at a time, then I started figuring out the syntax, before I knew it I could read entire textboxes without having to look up anything! It sure was more effective than learning at school I'll tell you.
Another fond memory was swapping memory cards with my cousins, it was fun seeing the icons of games I didn't have.

That's relatable, videogames, movies and YouTube really helped me a lot to improve my English

I was 11 years old when we (me and my brother) got the PS2 on Christmas 2001, Metal Gear Solid 2 , Final Fantasy X, Simpsons Road Rage, Splashdown, Time Crisis 2, It was absolutely wild. The rest was history, the PS2 is the best home system ever and I will die on that hill.

I played the PS2 kiosk at a Best Buy before it released with my dad on a cold, snowy night. The demo I played was SSX. Afterwards, I had to have one. I would gather up a bunch of my stuff, mostly video games and wrestling figures, and sell it at a flea market we used to go to on Sundays. My father, my grandfather and I went, my grandfather brought some books to sell, he told me that I was never going to sell my video games and wrestling figures, I went home with nothing but a wad of cash for my PS2 and my grandfather went home with his books. :ROFLMAO: There was a younger guy who sold video games and wrestling figures there, he showed interest, I told him that I wanted a PS2, and he bought all of it.

Sure, I could've probably gotten more for the stuff, but I didn't have long to sell it before the launch. Do I regret selling some of it? Yeah, however I've gotten most of it back in the many years since, and thankfully I bought most of it before vintage games skyrocketed in price. But it was worth it for the memories I'd have with my friends playing the PS2 -- especially GTA III and THPS3 in 2001. Those two games were so culturally significant like few have been since.
