I was surprised to hear that Muslera was still guarding Uruguay's goal — not because he is a bad GK, but because I hadn't heard a thing about him the whole tournament.
 
I was surprised because he wasn't in the previous 'Copa America' even in Conmebol qualifiers so I wondered a lot WHY HE STILL PLAYING WITH URUGUAY? He is too old for this kind of competition and Uruguay have Rochet, he was in all Uruguay matches since 2024

Yeah, but he IS playing on the highly competitive Argentine league, which I guess impressed the manager.

Or maybe it's a nod to someone who has been with the team for long — almost all teams have holdovers on their rosters.

Korea, Japan, Cape Verde and a few others have shown themselves capable of playing everyone on equal footing.
