Dragon Knight (English Patched) NEC PC-98

Dragon Knight marked the beginning of Elf's erotic RPG series. The game is played entirely from a first-person perspective. In the town, you move around by selecting destinations from a menu. Once you enter the tower, you navigate your character through 3D mazes, fighting random enemies in turn-based combat. Enemies in the game are scantily clad, attractive young women; there are also several scenes with explicit nudity.

Strawberry Fields was once a peaceful land. Ruled by the lovely queen Luna and populated only by women, the country knew no trouble. The Goddess Tower protected the inhabitants of Strawberry Fields. But recently, something happened in the tower. It is said that a dragon descended upon it, spawning an army of dragon knights who were threatening the peaceful land. The queen Luna summons you, a wandering adventurer, to descend into the depth of the Goddess Tower and to purge the evil from the land.

The original patch for this game has several bugs, typos, text glitches, line break formatting errors, and even a few untranslated strings. BabaJeanmel went and improved it by a ton, and the fixes and changes can be found at the source link. The translation is still AI/machine translated, but it reads pretty decently and you can't tell too much that it's not human translated.

I highly recommend the emulator Neko Project 21/W for playing on Windows. It's the most feature complete emulator for the NEC PC-9801 and is in active development receiving frequent updates. Use this guide for help on how to obtain and configure the emulator.

It can also play fine using the Neko Project II Kai core in RetroArch. Just make sure you have all the PC-98 bios files in the System folder. (C:\RetroArch-Win64\system if using default install location on Windows) I shared them in this comment.

This game is rather unfairly difficult and in order to grind at the beginning you'll have to purchase some equipment and then go back and forth from the tower and temple to fight and heal in order to gain some levels.

The controls are the numpad and enter and esc. It doesn't seem to support a mouse or joypad.

To fix the speed of the game to not be too fast change the CPU speed to 4x though the Emulate -> Configure menu in NP21W or RetroArch Core Options. Some have suggested 6x but that seems to advance the text a little too quicky.
