ZOOL: MAJYŪ CHARMER LEGEND (N64) [English Patch Release]

Yooo, I never thought this would get a translation! One of the VERY few RPGs on the N64, glad it got one!

yeah on gopher64, pj64 v4 dev (which the dev listed as the best option outside of console), parallel and ares I'm still getting the glitch at the orphanage after beating the mansion. Saving hasn't been a problem, it's just getting past that point.

Prepare for trouble, make It double.

I can see very heavy influence took from the Pokemon anime.

Gotta ask, just since it wasn't specified. Was AI used in the translation process?

It keeps showing me this in Project64 so I can't save it internally, even though I have memory pak enabled.

Does it happen to anyone else?

You have to toggle settings for the game specifically (right click and go to game settings) and enable SRAM for save method, and set the number below it to 3. Good luck.

I'm testing on rosalie's mupen gui right now let me know if you can get to the orphanage after beating the mansion. The game glitches making it unable to play the cutscene and progress.

yup the game got stuck too, i went there and it need a bugfix report.

I tried patching it myself and kept getting errors, figured that either there was something wrong with the patch or rom, or I was doing something stupid, been waiting for it to show up in the repo instead

I had similar problems trying to patch the game using XdeltaUI, it kept throwing errors that it "couldn't find the path specified."

This happened because there's non-standard character in the patch folder directory (the "Ū" in "majyŪ"). Rename the patch folder to something like "Zool ENG translation" and this should fix it. Using a rom from the NoIntro set, it patched and ran fine in Retroarch's Mupen64 core for the 30 minutes I played it.

As far as the translation method goes -- Zoinkity has done many J>EN N64 translations for more than a decade now. The included readme doesn't say anything about using machine translation or an LLM, so we can be fairly confident that this one was done by humans.
