Zombie Girl

I was literally having a real for lunch when I posted earlier. I was really hung up and got hooked reading posts on this thread. Though I really had a hard reading it in order(you know scrolling up then reading downwards ::sailor-embarrassed)
Ya... it just kind of happened. I figured, like most conversations on here, there would be a few back-and-forths, and then it would die off. XD

Never give a girl a full chance to talk, we don't know how to shut up most of the time
But man, you got some quite heavy convo here and me realize this world is really crazy place. After reading everything it made me feel like those were really tough times. Though I think I really had it easier compared to most of you guys.
Well as goofy as myself and Waffles act at times, we are, in fact, adults and have lived through a lot. I can't speak for Waffles, of course, but I get that from talking to him.
Living here in my side of the globe in the nineties is a real challenge to say the least. I belong to a low income working class family. So looking back and thinking to myself kids today won’t probably survive what we went through.
Again, I can't chime in for waffles, but myself as I have said, poor kid growing up, so I get you. As far as that goes, stingy. And no, most wouldn't, and they won't understand it.
It was quite scary here during the 90s. The country just survived a 20 year dictatorship (from mid 60s to mid 80s). Then followed by a decade or two of bad governance and political decisions that its effects still haunts us today.
That was the whole Ferdinand Marcos thing, wasn't it? A lot of what I remember involves human rights abuses and worse. It's been a long time since I was in school, so I might be misremembering it.
Homophobia is on a different level here. There are instances that a parent would subject their child into some levels of abuse just to bring them to “right path”. Sadly most of the offenders were those devout religious ones who see homosexuality a sin worst than blasphemy.
I dunno, in the 90s there were "straight camps" which were more or less religious camps that tried the same thing, and a lot of parents did the same here. I was lucky.. Bro didn't care who I liked, as long as I was happy

They called it "Conversion Therapy" I think, and I believe it still goes on to this day.
I had this distant cousin who only went “out” only his dad past away who happens to be pastor/preacher.
That makes sense actually. I would imagine a lot of people only do so when they get away from their parents iron grip, especially if they are really religious.
I remembered when this news came out even it happened halfway around the world parents here were really terrified. I was in college then and f-ck we got our own issues here when it comes to campus violence. The 90s up to early 2000s were the peak of what we call “Fraternity Wars”. You know those Gamma here Alpha that those kind of bunch. Scary thing those groups were endorsed by the some faculty who happens to be an alumni of that school. What used to be a symbol of brotherhood and camaraderie was reduced to thug like gangs. It really went on for as long as it did until bodies started piling up literally. It really took at least hundreds of casualties before the authorities stepped in. A lot of those fraternities went under some were abolished but some handful still remained.
I know that in the 80s and 90s, a lot of college fraternities had some horrible hazing rituals, which I think have since been "stopped" at least legally. What they do behind closed doors, who knows. But yeah, it was a pretty shitty thing to do to freshmen.
And also I’m loving this song for some reason.
It's a good Tune, for sure.

Sorry, I fell asleep... x_X
Nothing to apologize for. It was way past midnight where I am and I fell asleep myself soon afterwards. I'm just glad we get to chat!
Oh no, I remember the Columbine School. The day it happened, I saw it pop up on the news when I got home from my part-time job that day. I remember I poured a bowl of Count Chocula (don't judge me) and sat down and watched.
I think Bro had left it on the news before he went to work that day. Honestly, I couldn't believe what had happened, it was an awful, awful thing and something that could have been prevented if people had just paid attention.
Interestingly enough, I don't remember that making the news in my neck of the woods (it may have, but I was eight-years-old). Insanely preventable for sure, but I guess that's true for every single one.
Not long after that, due to the trench coats and such, anyone who was goth or similar got watched very closely and followed around at school by security.
And guess who was the prime suspect for pulling a Columbine at my school at the time?

Most likely rumors spread b y the little asshole girls, due to not liking me.
Doesn't matter now tho.
Yeah, I bet it wasn't a particularly fun time to be from the alt crowd. I heard that some schools even banned BACKPACKS in common areas, which is just insane to me.
Eh, looking back at it, we all think of things we should have said or done differently and wish we had. But we can't change the past, so there's no need to dwell on it. Where we are now, that's all that matters.
*Nods*. Unfortunately, I do dwell on that a lot... I'm starting to realize I was ok with being abused by pretty much everyone around me and it makes me furious in a way that's hard to put into words.
For sure, we can be as cruel as the coldest winter wind and just as unstoppable when we set our sights on something. This at least I can speak first-hand on..
I had my vindictive streak. I think all girls have had one... hell, some never grow out of it. Teenage girls are calculating, malevolent creatures sometimes.
Ha! Nicely put.

We can be assholes, too. I remember being a complete and utter ass just for the lolz.
I would say if I were closer, I’d give it to you. But if I were closer, you could find the same deal...

I'm sorry about that too. Wish there was something i could do to help ya Waffles =/ i hate thinking of anyone being hungry..
Oh, please don't worry about it! It's not so much going "hungry" (I have plenty of bite-sized stuff on reserve) as it is a case of "it's BS that this happens to someone with three paychecks".

I appreciate it, though. And small blessings that we aren't close by... Your town could only take so much madness before imploding >:D
There have been times when condiment soup was dinner. There was a time I was going into restaurants and getting a free cup of water and well.... not really stealing condiment packages, as most restaurants here at least could care less if you take them.
I was once given a full kg of frozen bread at a store I had never been to, no pitying looks or lectures. It made me feel visible and cared for... It's the kind of thing I'll never forget.

I should probably raid a McDonald's for condiment packs soon, though -- Mayo will keep you alive a surprisingly long time and, well, life's just better with ketchup on it XD
Well, I say restaurant, I mean the staff They don’t care. Sometimes.
That was a few days’ worth of "soup" when I was starting out. And pasta is fairly cheap here, at least. Obviously, I don’t know the prices in your area. But I learned a long time ago to stock up on the cheapest brand of pasta I could, keep it in the deep freeze because pasta for a week, every meal, is better than no meal.
No, yeah, pasta can be stupidly cheap here, too. It only sucks that my biggest shortages of money often happen in Summer, when it's hard to get my body (or those around me) to accept hot food when all they want is ice cream XD

But yeah, pasta, pate and potatoes are on my food stocks a lot.
pasta for a week, every meal, is better than no meal.
Fuck yeah.
Man, that sucks....
That's some cold, heartless thing to say, from whom I assume you mean your parents? Only assuming here. I don't even know how to respond to that.
I couldn't imagine telling my kid or a sibling that. I could see if someone was just doing that for years, but a kid? That's downright asshole behavior.
My dad, actually. Yeah, it was a pretty fucked up thing to say (and not even the worse of it... he had developed a thing for saying the most brutal things as he neared the end of his life... it's what it is).
Everything I got, I earned.. same with meals. Yes, bro helped me after I moved out, but I didn't want to just depend on someone either, you know.

And hey, if they were like that, Waffles, maybe it's for the best you dropped kicked out of there.
You are a survivor, Z. Always have been. And I respect the hell outta you for it, you damn weirdo ♥️❗
If we ever get around to it, I honestly have forgotten more than I remember about the dumbass shit I did as a kid. The med's and everything have made me a bit Swiss cheese-brained in some areas
I'm painfully aware of some of mine, like stabbing the ever-living shit out of someone's doorbell with a screwdriver at 3 AM because... reasons? XDDD
Talk about not messing with me? you carrying a Blade out here >:p

Well, a claw hammer isn't either. "Hey, I just forgot it in the car" The brass knuckles are hidden away easily enough. I'm long past the point of looking like a punk kid, even though I still am XD. And a Taser isn't illegal to carry here, so I have plausible deniability with those. Aside from the one time, I have a clean record with the police, so they don't even blink twice at me anymore...
Still "little miss sunshine" ya know. ^_~
But of course ;)!

Maybe add Mace to round out the package nicely XD
Well... It's not a bulldozer XD
Three Stooges GIF by IFC

;D!
Another one I had to Google. I'm not much into cars; I know a few, and mostly just the ones I like. But for some reason, it reminds me of Mr. Bean's car XD. Neat looking, though.
To think I wanted a Lamborghini as a kid XD
Me neither, but I get it. Pawn it off on someone else so they can foot the bill.
Slick, for sure.
And he upgrades, too.

Nothing to apologize for. It was way past midnight where I am and I fell asleep myself soon afterwards. I'm just glad we get to chat!
Same here
Interestingly enough, I don't remember that making the news in my neck of the woods (it may have, but I was eight-years-old). Insanely preventable for sure, but I guess that's true for every single one.
Well, the 8 year old thing didn't help, and It was probably localized it to the US, I suppose.
Yeah, I bet it wasn't a particularly fun time to be from the alt crowd. I heard that some schools even banned BACKPACKS in common areas, which is just insane to me.
Those, and trench coats here (Fully understand the Trench coats). Girls had to start wearing jeans and no skirts it was so bad and They were so paranoid.

I mean, what?
Where are we going to hide an assault rifle in our.. Don't want to be rude here... Bits.. lets say
*Nods*. Unfortunately, I do dwell on that a lot... I'm starting to realize I was ok with being abused by pretty much everyone around me and it makes me furious in a way that's hard to put into words.
It's awful you felt that way then, and even more so now, given the way you feel.
And I am sorry it happened to you honestly.
Don't get me wrong, we all dwell on the past.. Regardless of what i said, like yourself, there are things I wish I could change or say or do differently. I imagine you've had nights lying awake, berating yourself for something you shouldn't have let happen or said but did. At least I know I have.
Ha! Nicely put.
We can be assholes, too. I remember being a complete and utter ass just for the lolz.
Thank you. And yeah, guys can be pervs and asshats for sure, but again.... we aren't innocent little flowers either. My aforementioned friend Jez, well... she liked guys a lot. I nicknamed her the "Penis Fly trap."
Oh, please don't worry about it! It's not so much going "hungry" (I have plenty of bite-sized stuff on reserve) as it is a case of "it's BS that this happens to someone with three paychecks".
Oh, I know that feeling. I pay my bills, buy food, cover basic household needs, and girl essentialsl, and it's like, "Da fuq, my money go?"
I appreciate it, though. And small blessings that we aren't close by... Your town could only take so much madness before imploding >:D
lol right, i dunno if yours could stand me tbh >:D
I was once given a full kg of frozen bread at a store I had never been to, no pitying looks or lectures. It made me feel visible and cared for... It's the kind of thing I'll never forget.
That was really nice of them, and good on them for being kind.

The little gas station I mentioned in the past has done some things like that before. They have a lot of leftovers that have to be tossed, but what they would do is take the food and put it in clear plastic "trash" bags so people could see what was inside. It was packaged as if you bought it and then sat in a clean box on top of a table, so anyone who wanted it was free to take it.

They did cover their ass though, by having a sign up next to it stating

"It's been sitting for a few hours, we are not responsible for anyone who eats it."

It was still good, but had to, to cover there ass, and i understand that.
Now, I never personally took anything, but I knew they did it because I saw them sitting it out a few times while getting coffee late at night. Stuff like that means a lot to someone who has nothing, and I like to think the universe smiles on them.

And they still do it to this day.
I should probably raid a McDonald's for condiment packs soon, though -- Mayo will keep you alive a surprisingly long time and, well, life's just better with ketchup on it XD

Pasta salad would be good for that though.

I'm not crazy about pasta, to be honest, but it's better than being hungry. Potatoes, I only really use in veggie soup, or sometimes I'll bake one in the slow cooker with my chicken breast. Mostly soup though

I was around 12 years old. I wanted a Pontiac Fiero... I saw them sometimes on TV shows. I thought they looked so cool. In fact, they were absolute garbage, but you try telling that to a pre-teen kid

I don’t know if it’s qualified as an abuse or discrimination but growing up I felt what it is to be “unwanted”. Like I said life ain’t been easy and some of it really puts a stress on someone. My Mom got a buffet of it, life being hard plus coupled by some family drama it took a toll on her pregnancy. Those stressful conditions kinda messed up the kid in her tummy (me).

I was born sickly, weak, a total wimp. I was smaller, slower and weaker of all kids my age. Who would’ve wanted to play with someone who they think will drag their team down. Even some of my cousins don’t want anything to do with me .

Those were kinda like what triggered me to feel I’m better of alone. Aside from my parents and little sister there’s this 3 cousins of mine (which I kinda mention in one of my articles) were the ones who made me feel what it is to be “normal”. Those cousins of mine introduced to thing called a Famicom.

But there’s always a time that those persons aren’t always around. So I kinda grew up being a “part time loner” so to speak. Magazines, some children’s fantasy novels, a couple of worn out handed down action figures and that old 14” B&W TV were the closest thing to what I can call my social circle outside of those handful of people I mentioned.
That was the whole Ferdinand Marcos thing, wasn't it? A lot of what I remember involves human rights abuses and worse. It's been a long time since I was in school, so I might be misremembering
Yup that’s it. But there are two sides of that story. One side said that the government’s action is justified the other were the ones screaming to be the victims of an oppressive regime. Back then insurgency is on the rise. There were those armed pro-communists group seeking to topple the democratic rule. Most of victims of the said government abuse were “alleged” commy members and anti government sympathizers. My Grandpa, Uncles and even my Dad were arrested on separate occasions because of “curfew” violations. They were “processed”(background checks, everything) spent a day in a slammer but they were never harmed during those times and were set free soon after like nothing happened.

I actually once saw a video showing how you could hide a full-sized shotgun between your pants and your jacket... But it was a PSA released on the wake of Columbine and made precisely because of it, so it's probably BS. Who knows.
It's awful you felt that way then, and even more so now, given the way you feel.

Thank you. Truly.

And yes, I have done that more than I want to admit... But hey, at least we are happy now. They didn't win. They don't rule our presents the way they ruled our pasts. And that? That's a very real victory for both of us.
Thank you. And yeah, guys can be pervs and asshats for sure, but again.... we aren't innocent little flowers either. My aforementioned friend Jez, well... she liked guys a lot. I nicknamed her the "Penis Fly trap."

Yeah! Exactly! I'm usually pretty dry by the tenth and having to do things like stretching my body spray until it dies a hissing death because everything hygiene is just insanely expensive 'round here.

And taxes... Holy shit, my taxes! I don't even have Internet and I'm blowing close to 400K (half my paycheck) on keeping the lights on and the water running. It's depressing.
lol right, i dunno if yours could stand me tbh >:D
Teenage you would have been a national emergency, I'm sure ;D!

Honestly? Bless them. I can't stand businesses that would rather good food go to waste than share it with those who need it the most. And they seem to have been very thoughtful about both product and presentation, which is downright admirable to me -- too bad our lawyer-infested world have made the need to cover their asses a thing at all, but I love these people.
I used to hit McDonald's, Taco Bell, and Arby's here weekly.
They knew what I was doing... they just again, didn't care.
Considering it probably cost all of five cents to produce a packet of ketchup or whatever, caring would have been suicidal PR (and downright pitiful/lame).
Well, make the pasta ahead of time and put it in the fridge. :D Cold pasta! :D

I used to hate pasta (was an insufferable picky eater as a kid... A complete and utter prick), but poverty has this way of kicking your ass into gear... ;D!

I love myself some chicken breast, though -- it's one of the few staple meals I can get for cheap.
