I just started seeing things about this hack, and it looks amazing. There are multiple game mechanics added that vastly improve and modernize the format for gameplay.

Right away, we're greeted with this screen to inform the player whether they're using an appropriate emulator to play the game on, so I thought I'd include that screen to avoid any emulator issues. 😅

There's a Hero Mode if you're up to having a more hardcore experience.

Well, that's different.

No longer do you have the luxury of saving from the main menu at any time, opting instead to reach these Save points in order to record your progression and also..

You use them to level up! You are given a range of stats to assign points to right at the very beginning.

Also, it seems that in this game you climb much faster than in the original Ocarina of Time, taking a lot less time getting up or down cliffs and walls.

There are apparently perfect parries in this game, and from what I gather it seems to be worth going for!

You can sprint very, very fast in this game. It may be possible to sequence break in ways players may not have discovered through making longer, faster jumps.

Seeing a stamina bar in this game is an entirely new and different experience. It will be something to have to manage during regular gameplay as an added mechanic.

So, any thoughts on this hack?

I haven't touched my N64 in a while, I've been meaning to get back to it. This hack is definitely on my list now!

We are so back.

And yeah, I went to the lost woods to fetch ruppies for the shield and remembered I could use sprint. Jumping to the bridge that leads to Hyrule was fairly easy lol

Turns out you push and pull blocks faster, too.
This game has a lot of ambitious new features in addition to quality of life improvements.

Here's a few things I noticed:
  • You can skip a few large cinematic cutscenes, such as the one that plays at the beginning and Zelda's loredump on the triforce
  • Drinking bottle happens in real time during combat, just like Dark Souls
  • I wasn't sure how you lost heart containers, turns out it's upon death
  • Running is slower and consumes stamina when there's enemies around
  • Also, be careful when running around like an idiot, this can cause you to bump into enemies or fall into pits
  • The "Endurance" stat is stamina
Playing this on Hero Mode has been a blast so far, I'm on my third save. You have no idea how exciting battles feel now. It's basically a different game experience, despite still being Ocarina of Time.

Did you get past Gohma? That's where I'm at, Lol.

Yeah, so far I've noticed the game is mainly vanilla apart from the new game mechanics. Maybe they'll make them a feature in some up and coming OoT hacks, but I'd recommend this to anyone willing to play the vanilla game with some extra challenge to it.

Especially if you're headstrong and pick Hero Mode like I did. Makes my 3-heart run look  easy by comparison.

I'm getting pwned by it actually, lol.

I can't get Deku nuts from shops from some reason and they're not dropping from carnivorous plants either, I'm wondering if the mod disabled those or if I'm skipping some requirement since I'm sequence breaking the Deku temple a bit

I decided to just try it out real quick on my PC. But was too lazy to connect a controller, so I did the whole first dungeon just with my keyboard lol. Not Hero Mode though.

Gohma almost killed me, mostly because I could not aim in first person worth shit with just the arrow keys, and I was not expecting her to just get right back up when shot down from the ceiling.

Decided to put it down to play later on one of my retro emulation handhelds instead. You know, with an actual analog stick lol.

I swear they made Gohma a lot harder.
Every time I've fought her so far, she starts out using the move that makes the eggs fly out and hatch immediately, leaving little room to attack her. If you're quick and don't mess up the timing, you can manage to get her in the eye with the slingshot, but there is little to no room for error.

Excited to see what other enemy behavior patterns have been changed, but first I gotta get past her.. :loldog

Too bad it doesn't work so well for me probably it's because of my tablet it's getting too old and too slow for something like that. But what I have seen so far is great and it is a lot harder. I already had problems with the boss fight against Ghoma, he and his child insects really challenged me.
