Haven't posted anything in a while. Good to see that this thread is still somewhat active.
Since my last post in this thread, i went to the yugioh national tournament in my country with my friends. It was very fun and exciting to participate in such a large event. I went with traptrix and got better results than everyone expected but worse that i hoped for. Won 4 matches against blue eyes, gladiator beast, drytron and azamina white forest and lost 4 matches agains sky striker tenpai, mermail, swordsoul tenyi and speedroid.
The best match by far was against the azamina white forest: i won by time but man, did i have to work out that win. It went for like 5 turns and i even got to activate solemn judgement with 10 minutes on the clock, it was risky but that gave me the win in the end. Of the matches that i lost, i think the most upsetting was the swordsoul one because i thought that deck was weaker than mine... boy was i humbled. Lost the die roll and didn't get anything to work with. That's the game. The second most upsetting was the mermail one: that dude saw my hand with super poly and evenly in the third duel and made an endboard with one spell/trap negate, one hand rip and water statue. I could have made muddragon but i got tunnel vision and tried to get rid of the statue in battle, turning off my evenly and then getting my super poly ripped out of my hand because i forgot i had muddragon. I made up that mistake by resolving two super polys against drytron in the last round. I hope i can go again next year with my friends.
Since then, i changed my deck to orcust since i wanted something mor powerful. I love summoning Sera, set 4 and pass but i needed something that would make me grow as a duelist after one year of playing traptrix and man oh man, it feels very good getting out of dire situation playing out of the GY as opposed to hoping that the top deck is dionaea. I even got the fiendsmith and azamina cards for extra power and man, it feels way different to play this way. I will always have traptrix in my heart but it doesn't compare, i feel like i don't have to rely so much in the non engine to have a fighting chance, now i don't even want to see handtraps in my hand, i much prefer boardbreakers. Sadly, i don't have much money to spare some lightning storms and forbidden droplets you see, now that would make my deck truly perfect.
The only part that i don't like is that everyone is using lancea in their side deck.
