Your Most Hated Game Developers

I don't HATE Shinji Mikami per se, he's done a lot of good, but leaving RE1 Remake on the Gamecube for a decade and almost wanting the same for RE4 really is a dumbass choice. Also I don't like God Hand, so there's that. ::lol

Square enix for doing Front Mission dirty it ain't even funny bro
Also Yasumi Matsuno is a bit overrated imo (i don't hate him tho)

this one is a little bit explainable. they contracted the remakes out to this one studio because they said they would fund it themselves.

Still, though, they did give those frauds 1-3 in one contract so they don't have too much respect for those old games.

I think the closest I got to "hating" (although it's more of a dislike than anything) a specific developer would be David Cage. But even then that's more due to his actions, mainly that whole court case situation from a few years ago that revealed a lot of horrible things that he and other big dogs at Quantic Dream were doing. Obviously this includes other people in the industry that have been confirmed to also did horrible things to their peers.

Other than that, I can't say I outright hate any dev, I've seen/read/heard so many horror stories about game development going down the shitter that it's hard for me to understand half of the dumb conversations people get into when the next "worstest game ever!1!" comes out. At this point even when hearing about a bad game, my first reaction to it isn't some point and blame game like most online, but more of wondering what went wrong.

Shinji Mikami was fed up with Playstation, they were un apologetic assholes to everyone, even to companies that made their brand a success. He even wanted RE4 on Xbox.

While I actually really like Indigo Prophecy, Heavy Rain, Detroit: Become Human, etc., I wish they'd make another more traditional game like Omikron: The Nomad Soul. What a cool game that was. It was open world when very few games were, it had incredible atmosphere, and it had David Bowie.

EA
Because it ruined the Need for Speed franchise and closed several studios

I don't understand why they continued to put out tons of mediocre-bad NFS games instead of another Burnout. Even though Paradise wasn't my favorite, Takedown and Revenge were, wasn't Paradise very successful? I remember people talking about that game A LOT when it came out.

Simple answer : All modern day Triple A Developers . ::smirk1

Truthful Jokes aside .

Hideo Kojima :
While some MGS Games were great and i love Snatcher , I hate him how much he straight up stole ideas from movies to make those games and especially how looooooooong the cutscenes became lately . I could go on about him personally but thats step too far and i keep it for me .

John Romero (its more a hate/Love thing) :
Hey johny-boy ! Where is Daikatana 2 and a Remake to Daikata 1 ? I cant live on without my best bro superfly .

Randy bi-....Pitchford :
That guy should let Duke Nukem out .
He doesnt do anything with Duke Nukem and is absolutly a clown of the most cringiest and worthless kind.

I could go on about Dev-studios too but i leave it out. I know there are people which love the games from those studios that i hate with a passion . I dont wanna start a war over this and being fun-killer aint my stuff .

I remember a video interview by Kurt Russell aka Snake Plissken, Kojima wanted him to voice Snake in Metal Gear Solid, but he declined cause he saw Solid Snake as too derivative of Snake Plissken. As in he didn't want to revisit the persona in a rehased way.

And also, Kojima in his early life was a failed movie director before he joined Konami which explians the stolen ideas from movies in his games: Metal Gear, Snatcher, Policenauts etc.

Yeah , i saw that Kurt Russell Interview and i love every second of it .
Kurt Russell have still huge value towards John Carpenters best Character and giving Hideo Kojimbo the middlefinger was glorious ! Nothing replaces Snake Plissken and especially no clone or copy comes close to the original badass .

Thank you for calling it out. I didnt knew he actually tried to be an movie director . And failing it too , explains the whole debacle with his writers . I thought it was just a dream-job he cant archieve and only sticked with game-developmemt and later on becoming game-director .

What an overhyped Flop he is. Atleast Snatcher was a great game , even when he shamessly copies Terminator and Blade Runner in the most obvious way possible. But the Soundtrack is still a banger .

MGS Ac!d 1 & 2 , Peacewalker , Ghost babel and MGS 1 were for me the best ones he created but thats it . The Ac!d Games werent even from him or partly involved .

True... damn I'm tired of so many souls.
I feel you .... Im fed up with Souls-games and its Fujiyama-pile of souls-clones too.
Even Bad Ps2 Character action-games play much more interesting and fresh than souls-likes and its stamina-meter of painful monotony .

Yeah lots of people caughting up how much of hack he is. Portable Ops was good too Kojima didn't have much involvement, the idea of building your own army originated from that game, and also no one wants to play 2 of his endless walking simmulators with Walking Dead guy holding a baby ::smirk1

supposedly the guy who made borderlands had child p*rn on a usb he left at medieval times
but i just googled it and it appears that wasnt true, so i guess i dont have an answer lol

100% agreed, of all of QD's games, that game to me is unironcally my favorite from the studio. Then again, I'm not sure if the studio today would be able to carry on with Nomad Soul's "Arxel Tribe-esque" adventure game design and expand it. The playable movie format they're known for is basically their bread and butter.

I honestly don't miss their attempts at making an actual game. Omikron was a mess, even by 90's PC game standards. Tried to be six games in one and didn't do any of them that well. At least by the time of Heavy Rain and Detroit (ignoring the weird in between that was Beyond Two Souls), they got the hang of it and actually made the in-game choices somewhat matter as the game goes along, as well as the multiple endings for each character. So even if I don't like his games or his writing, he did improve as time went on.

Anyway, my point was that unlike the person you mentioned, this manga's author did in fact get caught with CSAM. 100 DVDs of it or so.
Theres rumors that Its much more than 100 dvds. He had so much CP they thought he was a DISTRIBUTOR.

Normally in csam crimes, they don't pay money. They trade files and it creates this snowball effect that doesn't leave a paper trail and sadly the problem grows immensely. This is why in many of those cases they have like terabytes of it. So almost every time, they are also distributing. It's sad. I saw a whole documentary on this

Hate is a strong word, but some old AAA juggernauts like EA are something I do have strong disdain for.
Not too much of a hot take I guess.

- Developing a game for more than 10 years
- Severe pork addiction
- does not tolerate the slightest joke towards him.
- Multiple accusations of horrible things towards the female gender
- puts an extremely detailed toothbrush in his trash game
