Ys Chronicles I (bought on GOG) left a lasting impression on me with its wonderful atmosphere, addictive soundtrack, and simple "bump combat" gameplay. The English translation could have done with fewer pop culture references and other localizer-isms, but overall I had a great time. I love mechanically simple RPGs.

This is probably the first game that defeated me, I made the irreversible mistake to play it in hard mode since the first time and I couldn't take down the final boss, I swear I really tried for two days with no success. Rage-quit

Possibly the best game I played over 20 years after playing the original Gamecube version.
