Your favorite stores growing up that no longer exist?

I used to go to Toys "R" Us when I was a little kid, but I have no memories of those times.

I do however have fond memories of going to Hastings (which was a large video rental store akin to Blockbuster) on Friday nights and grabbing some movies and games to rent for the weekend. Don't miss the times, just the feeling

I also miss going to Gimbels and Wanamaker's around Christmas.

While this is a somewhat cliche answer, I always wanted to go to a toys r us, but it was too far and too expensive.

We had 1 in my city and i never visited. Kicking myself. Smyths toys is like toys r us here Its massive.

Media Play

When I was around 10, skateboarding had become hugely popular again, so I started skating.

After that, I skated all the time, regularly.

When I discovered how good it felt to play guitar, I skated mostly just to get to a place with a guitar.

Media Play was awesome because I could sit around playing on their amps literally all day for like 15 hours a day. That's like 15 straight hours of practice, for me.
