PS1 your favorite PS1 game

It changes from time to time, but for me, it is either between Dino Crisis, the Armored Core series or Ape Escape.

Though, the honorable mentions would have to go with Intelligent Qube, since I absolutely love the soundtrack. Also, the Serial Experiments Lain game that actually did a very faithful version of anime, even if it was hard to get into it at first.

Sweetie, we have Crash Bandicoot: Warped at home!

It used to be crash 3 when i was a kid, close second being megaman x5.
But the more i replayed the original crash bandicoot trilogy, the more the first game grew on me, it's the most unique game of the trilogy and it does so much with so little imo.

Some levels even have some neat secret areas with assets that you only see once and have me pretty curious even today, not to mention the game with the most cut content among the trilogy (as expected ofc for being the first game) -Really gets my imagination working with what could've been.

It may be a bit rough around the edges, but the added challenge is nice, specially if you have played this series as much as i have, so yeah, this is my final answer.

Favorite would probably be Digimon World 1. I can't separate it from my nostalgia, it was a very formative game for me.

More recently I've stumbled across the Deception series by Tecmo. I would definitely recommend anyone to at least give the first game a try as it has a very unique gameplay loop that I absolutely adore. It is crazy to think this series lasted all the way into the PS4 era.

If I'm ever out of the house and have a dead phone and I need to waste some time, I just play through Metal Gear Solid in my head

I don't have anything too radical contribute to the heap of masterpieces thrown together here in these favorites lists. I will say I really loved having the PS1 version of Diablo as a non-pc having kid. I know it's probably a crusty port upon a revisit, but my brother and I had some good runs on it. It remains one of my favorites for giving me a taste of a classic PC game and being able to play it locally with a friend.

- Final Fantasy VII-VIII-IX
- The Legend of Dragoon
- Vagrant Story
- Soul Reaver
- MGS+SM
- RE 1-2
- Herc's Adventure
- Castlevania SotN
- Parasite Eve 2
- Bugs Bunny Lost in Time
- Tekken 2-3
- Tombi! 1-2
- RRR/Rage Racer
- Syphon Filter 1-2

The PS1 has a lot of very good games that I really love, I remember telling a friend of mine once that the PS1/PS2 to me we're the consoles with stuff that "felt the most like videogames" out of anything else.
To answer my favorite PS1 game is the first Spyro, I like the whole original trilogy but the first one is rounded up much better that it's sequels

Soul Reaver is a close second but I think the Dreamcast Port is better

For me, choosing one feels like missing the point of the PlayStation. The best games on the system are so far ahead of the rest that it’s almost insane. The PS1, for me, is defined by odd, lovable experiences that you can’t get anywhere else.

That said, when forced, Final Fantasy IX all the way. I literally had dreams about that game while playing. You can’t match that level of love.
