You take notes when playing games too?

I occasionally take notes of how many exp points I need to level up the party, or sometimes I write down the names of my characters to not forget them when I do a new playthrough.

Yup, number crunch mainly in timeframed games like preRyza ateliers, Nelke was a big one for keeping track of transferring buildings and workers around, Nights of Azure 2 trying to do all the events and quests in one non new game plus is crazy.

I think the it started with teleport mazes, I had a map called F**king stupid mission for phantasy star universe ambition of the illuminus the one with the kid running around.

The other big one was Final Fantasy XIII doing value over cost to see which materials were actually giving the most exp. 🤓

Once in a while, I guess. I took quite a lot of notes while playing Hotel Dusk and Last Window.
There is even an in-game notebook for you to write things down but I just used Notepad.
I relate to Michel because I prefer taking mental notes instead, and I have trouble reading my handwriting afterwards.

I did write down few things on paper

They were the only word puzzle i solved in SH1 (great game btw) the otherworld door puzzle before meeting lisa in and getting that scene... Where she walks and drips blood uhm before that shocker there is a door and a type writer device you need to figure out what to type the clues are names of "grim reapers" and the other clue is "from young to old" ugh remembering SH1 makes me creeped a bit XD , so i took a paper wrote down each name and then tried to solve the puzzle after so much thinking i input first letter of each name making it ALERT and it opens!

The other example is writing down the name of pictures of the art gallery puzzle that i havent solved yet i still have them somewhere might get a pic later..

I took screenshots of the piano buttons in FF7 and the numbers that hojo left behind

Depends of the game, but sometimes. The only game that really got me taking lots of notes recently was when I played Tunic blind (still need to finish that game, won't mention where I got to cause spoilers).

It depends of the game. MAYBE in some survival horror games, but otherwise not really. Last thing I remember taking notes was writing down the Shinnok morph inputs for a MK4 playthrough I was doing at the time, lol.

i do because i take notes all the time :3

i also draw sometimes for making ideas in games like minecraft or simcity

in monster hunter i do a lot of "shopping list" as i like to call them when i need specific materials for monster

also as pc gta player, when i was little i use to write down the cheat codes too:3

I wrote codes for special moves like in mortal kombat too. More think I like to write from a game is,it's mechanics and how use them better(like a guide because I like to write guides for game faqs and also to use them in game and game making)

List of items and material are very important in RPGs games.
In minecraft I wrote a lot note to make a automatic farm....but before even try my minecraft become broken for java problems.
For cheat codes I always write them.

I do this too when I play dating games that acquire getting cg art. I'd do a whole small notebook specifically on it

I've got pages of maps on grid paper from loads of mysterious games. I didn't label them properly and now I can only recognize/remember a few of them.

You used to have to do this because most dungeon crawling RPGs did not do it for you. I know some of these are from the Wizardry series, some are Squeenix stuff like DragQue and FiFan. I think one is the Dark Tunnel from Gen I Pokemon so I could get through without wasting a slot on Flash!

Oh yeah, that's true. Old dungeon crawlers required you to draw a map. Some new ones are like that too.
Since I'm horrible with directions, I try to find a map drawn by someone else online.
The issue is that many of them are still confusing for me lol. There is some trial and error involved.

I remember now that sometimes I make notes of potential storylines for The Sims, but usually I prefer not to write things down and just let the ideas flow.
Recently I had multiple ideas for Sims and their lives, and I had to write them on a document because otherwise I'd forget about them.

Well I do the modern variant of it I use notepad ++ to make notes which is for the best my handwriting is unreadable like a man that is having a stroke bad.

I haven’t played any that necessarily require me to, so at most I’ve taken a photo of something and at minimum I make a mental note that I always forget later ::thumbsupwario
