aight i was looking around and didn't see anyone posting about lifting and working out here ( i hope this is the correct place to post this if not sorry mods) so i wanted to be first kinda
I'm currently going thru my cut and working out and even tho I've been lifting for 5 years there is still so much to learn and become better at
so in this post i want to share my tricks and tips but also learn from the people here too + encourage people to start working out and they can use this post a sign to start
- I'm 180cm tall (that's 5'10 for my lovely Americans)
- i weigh 86 ish kgs or 190 pounds
- my fat % is around 18 now and my goal is to reach 12% this year
- my diet is around 2000 cals and sometime i go a lil under for convince
- my workout plan is a lil bit all over the place since i adapted Calisthenics for the first time this year into my workout plan so I'm still new to it
so if you are new and don't know where to start id love to give some advice and help people but also learn from more experienced lifters and have our lil gym club in here

Nope I’m not into lifting weights my daily routine is some push-ups, squats, curl-ups or some crunches during weekdays and a total 6mile run/jog during weekends.

Just started working out. Some cousins got me on a decent routine.
Mon-chest/ back,
Tues- legs/glutes,
Wend- abs,
Thurs- shoulder/ neck/traps,
Fri- arms,
Weekend- rest.
Cardio- Mon/ Wend/ Fri- walk/run 3 miles on treadmill.
I'm feel dead come the weekend but I can see that I'm loosing some weight.
Problem is, I love me a good hamburger and milkshake. Plus I do a lot of traveling.
Need to learn more about diet and what places have healthy food while travailing.

lets goooo that's the spirit although when it comes to diet traveling and trying to find food that fit your diet out there is always the hare part i suggest you make your own burgers and milkshake at home when you can and go wild with the shakes you can blend all kind of super food into it and make some interesting combos that not only delsih but also very healthy and full of neutrtions

Ive been doing crunches when I wake up to get my stomach looking nice, but thats literally the only thing ive done

I'm getting started. My goal is to go more times this month.

I did lift sometimes, especially during work (lifting them metals, cartons, etc.). I love doing pushups more though, and then walking, stretching, lunges, etc.

I'm very old school. I only lift myself, grocery shopping stuff and my bag for work. I walk a lot so if I were an anime character I would be "One Kick Man" lol. Though sometimes I have to carry stuff due to my work, I may don't look strong but at least I'm not fat and IMO this is what matters. My body looks decent for me, and never would lift just to look like Chris from Resident Evil 5 or something lol. As a man perhaps not having a belly is the greatest "enough" body image a man can ever achieve and enough to satisfy their body image lol.

Been weight lifting since 2010. I can thank the bad knees. wrists, and spinal stenosis from all the heavy lifting I did back then. I still lift today, just not as heavy, about 4-5 days a week. Cardio everyday is a must for 60 minutes on the treadmill, with 13-15 elevation and 3.5-3.8 speed. Currently 160 pounds, 6'2. Good luck to you all. Health is the most important thing you can invest in.

If I remember correctly from my biology class what matters to build muscle for look and decent strength is not lifting heavy weight but how much the muscle is used. It means a person can build muscle with light weight as long as they use the muscle a lot. And genes are a so great factor some people can be more muscler than others despite they have the same life style without actually lifting. Then another point of lifting is enjoying heavy lifting which seems pointless to me.

And heavy lifting is bad for muscle and even limb damage which I don't see the point. However it's only a must for those who have to carry extreme weights for long like IDK miners who have to carry boulders lol. So if the goal is body image heavy lifting is unnecessary.

I also remember one of my friend who wanted to look muscler but gave up in a year because he desperately heavy lifted and there was no visual change. I had to remind him what matters is years of effort and dude stop eating hamburgers as much as I drink water lol.

go 3 times per week
idk how is your daily routine but for me what motivate me to go to the gym is going early in the morning since i have nothing at that time, also i can make my breakfast sweet like banana pancake and have my favourite coffee

Any of you guys take supplements as well? No not that, but vitamins, and stuff like that. Currently I take Omega 3, Vitamin D3, L-lysine, and 200mg Caffeine pills for my pre-workout boost. Best brands I've found are Now, and Vitamatic. My Testosterone crashed awhile back due to a cut. I mean REALLY crashed, 2 digits shit. It has gone back up, but no where near optimal which should be around 500. I want to avoid TRT for now, although I'm tempted. Any thing that actually works that helps boost T?

AIGHT LISTEN BRO, YOU DONT NEED TRT AT ALL......., just fix your diet, add super foods to your supplement mix for example:
- beet root powder (put it in a pre workout and you will have the best pump that day + sky rocket your T
- Zinc and Magnesium (what you need to produce your test)
- sea salt or Hamelin (pinch some put it in your mouth and chase it with water or better lemon)
- Creatine + Betaine ( equal doses and take em early after breakfast and try to train in that period)
- ashwagandha ( ltrly the best supplement out there helped my T and sleep)
- blue spirulina or phycocyanin ( add it to your diet and try to start fasting with it in your diet this is the second best thing you can have as superfood combine it with green juice and you will age 5 years younger in 3 months)

i had low test too and had major problems with my body, as soon as i started using these in my diet i got back on track in less than a year and also i reversed my pre diabetic state and high cholesterol levels

I workout 5 times a week since 2011-12
I consume about 190-200 grams of protein per day. I drink like a liter of 1% Milk with my protein after 30 minutes of workout. I weight back in 2023 at 180lb at 5'7/170m. Now i leaned a lot since my weight has been a stable 160lb this year and last year. I think about going hard again, I might go back in the routine of getting big again next year.
