Yo dudes whats the literal worst game u played in ur entire life (everything but not mobile games)

I don't even remember the title, so I feel a little unfair trashing it... But there was a "life simulator" game in the early 90s that just refused to let me figure it out. I could never make it past the character's bedroom (the initial screen), that's how broken it was.

The worst RPG I ever beat is Legend of Wukong, one of the unlicensed Taiwanese Genesis RPGs Super Fighter Team licensed and localized. It's literally nothing but random encounters the whole way through, there's nothing else to it. The most broken is Maten no Soumetsu, also on the Genesis, which was fan translated a few years ago. It's the single grindiest Japanese RPG ever made, as far as I know (and I've played most of the old-school ones). Literally every time you make a tiny bit of progress you have to level grind for hours to be able to do the next dungeon, it's insane. If you completely rebalanced it it'd be alright, but as it is it's unbearable.

Without a doubt its Ninjabread man for me

This Accursed shovel ware game.

I have two candidates, both of which exist in relation to the old Fox Kids/Jetix cartoon library Disney inherited.
  • Iznogoud for the PlayStation. Already a lousy DOS game that controls like ass, but the PS1 version compresses the high-resolution graphics into a pixelated mush and has un-remappable buttons. Despite being made via the Saban license, it doesn't actually appear to take anything from Saban's adaptation of the comic. To be fair, it barely takes much from the comic; it really just throws you into tropey video game locations until it's over.
  • Eek! The Cat for the SNES. Semi-remake of an Ocean Amiga escort platformer called Sleepwalker; it benefits from having extra buttons but I haaate the gameplay as is. You have little control over Eek's momentum and it's too easy to fuck up and have to do tedious chunks of level over. Plus, it seems like they didn't have time to portray the cartoon correctly. No cutscenes explaining what you're doing, only based on the (at the time) two-year-old first season, clashing assets in an already ugly game.

The others are funny bad, forces is just nothing.
That's probably why I hate it the most.
To be honest, despite how bland Forces is, I think I'd still take a functional game over the glitch fest 2006 was...

And even then I managed to not fall too much into them but the slowdowns and loadings are really putting more frustration.

Either this or Sonic Blast on the Game Gear.

Sonic forces biggest problem is classic sonic in it, the avatar character can be borderline overpowered and modern sonic is modern sonic, but classic sonic not only has TERRIBLE music, but the controls are terrible.

Worst sonic game is probably sonic blast on the game gear, but the worst sonic game to play is probably sonic genesis on the game boy advance or sonic the dark brotherhood on the ds.

Which makes no sense considering how well he played in Generations. Something must've happened during development (like losing the code or something).

Avatar definitely should've been in its own mode (like multiplayer or something) if not a spinoff (or even a game that isn't tied to Sonic at all). Being overpowered after grinding is not a problem per se.

I'm still surprised when Mario World, a SNES game, managed to run better on the GBA than Sonic.

I forgot about that RPG but then again who thought that making a turn based Roleplaying game would've worked with Sonic?

Hmm I've played quite a few bad games but if I were to think of some

Sonic Spinball - Genuinely miserable to play, controls were ass, music was ass, only beat cause I was on an emulator

Bubsy 3D - Textbook example on how not to make a platformer. It's true when people say the entire game looks like an unfinished alpha build. Controls are fucking clunky, camera is ass, Bubsy's voice is fucking annoying, music is ass. I think I stopped playing around the water levels.

Major/Minor - Furry visual novel I played in high school. No skip system, only can save when the game stated you could and im pretty sure it was made in RPG maker of all things, all the cast had one sprite only, reeked of writing by someone who had no clue what Japan was outside of anime, and all the characters had only a singular smiling sprite. Dropped after the ch1 demo.

Dragon Slayer - I respect it from a historical context and how it brought Falcom to where they are now, but from a modern day perspective it's genuinely just fucking boring and a slog.

Dragon slayer should get a bit of a pass for another reason, the action rpg genre is basically considered to have started with dragon slayer, there were a few that came close before it, but the first game in the genre is generally considered to be dragon slayer, that said yes the game is extremely archaic.

So about bubsy 3D:
Yes, bubsy 3d is getting a rerelease, why, i donno.

Yeah you got a point there with Dragon Slayer. I honestly wanna try out Xanadu as I heard it fixed and improved on a lot of the groundwork DS set.

Yeah I saw that, I don't know why they think anyone is really that nostalgic over Bubsy. I don't even think that bargain bin new one they released a few years back even really did anything? I think there was some mobile game sequel?

Apparently there are some fans remaking 2006 and I heard good things about this project. That, underneath the piles and piles of glitches, there is a very solid game design with good levels underneath.
But, of course, the road to hell is paved with good intentions....

How is that surprising? Sonic is faster than Super Mario World, and the Genesis had a faster CPU than the SNES. It's not easier to port.
In the end it's just bad programming and quality control, the GBA could have handled a good port of course.

2006's gameplay in itself wasn't the problem, it was just broken and had the worst story in a sonic game (not to mention how creepy the sonic/redhead romance is), which says alot considering the genesis games had literally no story.
