Original Yakuza 3 to be delisted next month on most digital storefronts upon the release of Y3 Dark Ties. Only way to get the original will be part of the 3-4-5 remastered release by buying the whole bundle.

People around the net seemed pretty pissed, the counter argument being "If you didn't already own it you probably never would"

I think it sucks when they delist shit, it's like trying to erase the existence of something. There are major asset changes and differing features between the two games, both have merit to being played.
Another reason piracy is preservation.

I’m mad because I bought Yakuza 3 Remastered and then they made Kiwami 3. They should give Kiwami 3 free to owners of Y3R, or a large discount. But they’re not doing that.

Anyway, while delisting is often a terrible thing, and ridiculously only happens because two companies are too greedy and too stupid to agree on a % share royalties, so they choose to make zero money rather than some money… I thought Y3 wasn’t a big deal because Kiwami 3 is the definitive version. In fact it’s probably to avoid getting mad customers like me if people buy the older one without realizing the difference with newer one.

Are there things about non-Kiwami version that people want to preserve?

They still did not say why they delisted the sega genesis collection and dreamcast collection on steam... i have the dreamcast collection but only a couple of sonic games in the genesis collection, would have loved to have phantasy star IV, shining force 2, alien soldier, etc... guess i will NEVER be able to play those games, if only there was some other way but its IMPOSSIBLE *wink wink* ::eggmanlaugh

Delisting is the next boss fight, it seems.

I also find it amusing that most --if not all-- of the companies denouncing piracy do everything in their power to prevent you from buying and/or keeping your games.

Fuck. You.

Revelations also cut from what is supppsed to be the definitive experience

Way worse is how it’s exclusive to a $100 package also consisting of the controversial upgrades to Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1, and Kiwami 2
Enjoy your 90 GB port of a PS3 game sold at twice the price as the original and its sequels I guess.
WHAT ARE WE DOING MAN, Sonic Generations did this correctly nearly a year ago

Naughty Dog gets shit for milking TLOU but RGG Studio rereleases a Yakuza game every other month and it's okay.

Sad, but I am not surprised. At least you can it the original and remastered version physically. Though I have feeling schemers are going to mark up the price on the secondhand market, even though they sold good.

why they delisted the sega genesis collection and dreamcast collection on steam
I never knew about this. Though they did delete all of the Sonic games for the sake of the shitty Origins port with the prototype music of Sonic 3, because Sega is too lazy/cheap to keep paying the Micheal Jackson estate. You can afford it, Sega. Fuck off.
Who the hell thinks like that?
A lot of the AAA(A) gaming industry. Capcom are one of the few who doesn't do this thankfully. They know not to do it, because it will piss everyone off, and they want to maintain good will and PR between fans and their target audiences.
