RB's Notes: As stated, this is incomplete from a script standpoint, save for terminology standardization. Currently this will be most useful for the QoL aspect, of which this particular iteration contains the following:

• Combat flash removal
• Halved encounter rate
• Gold gain increased by 50%
• Terminology standardization
• Fast text rendering
• Battle voices and FMV undubbing

I think this version of the game was made with different settings of the perfect works patcher than the previous versions from cdromance.

Because defending now does NOT give AP. While before, it did give AP. Can anyone else confirm?

If I remember correctly the encounter rate has been lowered, and so you need extra exp and gold in order to be adequately levelled.

I played Xenogears it's more of a story game and boss fights then a typical RPG. The encounter rate wasn't that bad, but if the hack cuts encounter rate then you need more exp per battle.

Hey @RageBurner, FYI: some of the links are bad. "Xenogears (Perfect Works Build v0.8.2)[Disc 2]{Original Script Dubbed}.7z" leads to a page that says the file doesn't exist, and "Xenogears (Perfect Works Build v0.8.2)[Disc 1]{Retranslated Script Dubbed}.7z" is a 640MB .7z file that won't extract once downloaded.

Both links and downloads appear to be working properly again. I was able to download and extract both files. Thanks for correcting things!

Is there any way to insert the italian patch in this hack? i can't figure it out

I'm one of the PWBuild team members and we definitely want it to be able to work with other translation patches. It may be possible now as the PWBuild mod works with the same tools built for the Italian translation. If you first patched the game using the PWBuild patches you're wanting to use, but don't apply the script patch of course, or the FMV undub patch - and then if you can patch the Italian translation on top of those modified rom files, that'd be the way to go.

Closest thing would be reading the github page's wiki section, which details stat and name changes along with plenty of other stuff.

As far as I know this patcher targets the English version exclusively. You'd need to get in touch with the creators of the hack to extend support to other patched languages.

AFAIK, all of them. The difference is precisely the changes in script (or not) and the undubbing (or not).
