I don't have much experience with the Microsoft Xbox but I think it belongs in the console hall of fame just like the Playstation 5.The last five years haven't been easy for console manufacturers but it worked. What a crazy generation it's been for console prices nowadays! Okay my RGT friends, I wanted to dedicate this thread to the Xbox because I'm going to be saying goodbye until next year. I need a break from here too. I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Stay healthy and take care everyone!

I honestly feel that Xbox as a console brand is on it's last legs. They never really 100% recovered from the Xbone's disastrous reveal, and the Gamepass price increase killed any good-will they had slowly built back up with consumers. Prior Xbox exclusives like Halo and Gears being brought to PS5 feels very much like a "canary in the coal mine" moment for Xbox's future.

Xbox today feels like a brand caught in contradiction, with high‑price raises on its consoles straining players, development kits climbing in cost and squeezing smaller studios, and AI‑driven advertising campaigns flooding the scene with generative, hyper‑personalized promos under the ‘This is an Xbox’ banner that try to polish over the turbulence, yet all of these moves together paint a picture of a company leaning on algorithms and rising costs rather than the creative spark that once defined its hall‑of‑fame legacy, so dedicating this thread before your holiday break reads like a bittersweet farewell to a console generation struggling to balance mythic promise with machine‑crafted reinvention. I just feel these days, they love bad ideas...

AquiHere in my country, the Xbox has increased in price to a level that I can't afford every day.

This really is the worst console generation. It's the only generation where the console prices actually went up.

After watching that XB1 reveal Live through my 360 back in the day, I knew I was heading the way of the Playstation, though glad i did... still the worst console generation hands down, totally agree. Prices skyrocket, yet little incentive.

I also wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. But I think you probably won't come back; your profile seems to be closed.

Okay, regarding your thread, all I can say is that Microsoft has simply ruined everything, I would say. They wanted too much and now they have hardly anything left except disappointing gamers. Which I find very unfortunate because the Xbox is simply part of the gaming world. I recently read that the new Xbox will set new standards and be a great top-of-the-line device but I think it will simply be overpriced again.

I think the biggest problem of Xbox right now, and all the console manufacturers, this gen is the loss of consumer trust. Xbox is worse because of both the insane increases in price and the fact that for a long while they seem to run on impulse, short-term thinking making really questionable, contradictory decisions, like shutting down Tango Gameworks and then, after almost a week, selling it. And now consumers don't trust the brand and expect the worse. Especially with Microsoft botching Windows 11 as well. Microsoft is becoming a rather unpopular brand.

Honestly as bad as the Xbox One reveal was... I would prefer Don Mattrick to Phil Spencer (raises flame shield) but Peter Moore was better than both. Phil Spencer seems like a great guy but he should use Forza Horizon 6 and Halo remake as leverage to get atleast something like Horizon Zero Dawn on Xbox.
