Xbox Next May Cost Twice as Much as PlayStation 6

Does anyone even think the PS5 is dated at this point? Despite being a half decade old it still feels like the console gen just started and the PS4 is still relevant.

Why is anyone even talking about the pricing of the gen after this one?

Before, I felt like PS3 was the worst Sony console, but PS5 made it worse. So, I feel like PS5 has been here forever and it needs to be replaced as soon as possible for something more logic. If the logic now means to have a console of 800€ in order to compete with PC at all costs, then it continues being dumb.

The technology went so far that even entry-to-medium level hardware is capable of wonders. If they don't know how to categorise, like Microsoft did with Xbox Series S/X, at least I hope they try to stay in the middle ground. This PC masterrace cancer is giving mysery to all the people who just like to play videogames and enjoy.

I agree with this. Given how weird this generation was with COVID, it took a long time to start since dev teams were working from home. It still feels like it hasn't truly started. PS5 is most known for remakes/remasters and Sony's failed live service initiative. Sony's biggest problem is that they didn't invest in smaller AA releases between the big AAA releases that take forever. We need weird stuff like Knack, Concrete Genie--stuff like that. Otherwise, it feels like nothing's ever coming out. Xbox would often get lambasted for their lacking first-party support, however PS5 is feeling the same nowadays.

it's not a matter of console specs, pricing or timing. it's about the new controllers design where one of the buttons is dedicated to withdrawing funds from your bank account after the waiver screens where you work out a plan of compromising the custody of your 1st-born child's soul. button mashers used to break controllers. now they will experience 'broke' in another more horrifying sense HOO HOO HEE HEE BWA--*cough-cough-FUCK-I-need-a-water-choke-cough!!* ...BWAA-ahem.

I just spent $800 on a PS5 Pro with a disc drive less than a year ago. I don't want to think about the PS6.

Mine cost €900 with the drive. I think a PlayStation 6 Pro would probably cost €1800.

That's great! Unfortunately I am still playing on the PS2, Xbox 360 and Switch so this won't affect me much.
